WOW Flower card & Blog Candy Reminder!

I was inspired to make this card from the above album cover. This was Tenia's Jazzy Inspiration challenge this week. I also was inspired by the rug found HERE for the IC over at SCS.
I have had the Wow Flower stamp set and Flower Power collection since the fall-winter catty came out and have never used it! It seemed perfect for these inspiration pieces! I am working hard on using my stash, which has gotten a bit out of control! Yes...I still can't refrain from buying new stuff, but I am trying to use the old, too.

I am going to have a "Bargain Betty" bin at my next class with all things that I no longer use or think I will use including stamp sets! So if you come to my next class-get ready to rummage! LOL!

I hope you all have a great weekend! Don't forget to scroll down and leave me a commment in my blog candy post! I will pick a random winner tomorrow!

HHH and Blog Candy Reminder!

Happy Hip Hop Hangover! I made this card for this week's SCS color challenge. We were to use Summer Sun, Old Olive or Kiwi Kiss, and Pumpkin Pie. I have the Silver Lining DP from We R Memory Keeper's which worked perfectly for this challenge. The butterfly stamp is one that I got in my Unity grab bag! The sentiment is from Unity's Simply Said set.

Just a reminder to leave a comment about your favorite candy in the previous post to win my Basic Grey card kit blog candy! I will pick a winner on Sunday!

I am hoping I have some serious time to scrap and stamp tomorrow and this weekend! I haven't made a page in awhile so hopefully I will have something for you soon!

Do You Want Candy?

WOW! I can't believe in one day I went over 3,000 hits! I thought it would take longer. Wanna know what the blog candy is? It will be one of the fabulous Basic Grey Card kits I have been talking about. Here are two more cards you can make from that kit. Aren't they sooooo cute? The kit includes all of the stuff you need to make 8 cards. Paper, cardstock, chipboard, rub-ons... I have left some of the sentiments off of my cards, so that when I get ready to use them, I can choose the occasion.

What do you have to do to win this blog candy? Well... I want to know what your FAVORITE candy is. You can't say "anything chocolate" either! LOL! I want brands and details!

I will pick a random winner on Sunday. Sound good? Okay...tell me all the deets on your favorite candy!

Unity Grab Bag Stamps!

This made me sooooo happy when I opened my mailbox up last night! A box of rubbah from Unity! Angela had the deal of a century last Thursday-a grab bag of 50 Unity stamps for $8! WHAT?! I know...that's what I screamed at the computer when I saw it! To give you an idea of how big some of these images are, I had to lay them all out on two 12 x 12 sheets of paper. Angela also included a coupon for 20% off your next order! How wonderful, generous and sweet is this gal? VERY!!!

I will have you know, that I only already had purchased 2 of the stamps I received!! Isn't that amazing considering all of the Unity I have been buying in the past 4 months!

I hope to get some serious stamping and scrappin' done during nap time today. I have a super busy day tomorrow. Off to physical therapy and sensory group with Max. Max has a sensory integration disorder and some developmental delays. We are busy, busy, with physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy every week. He has made some really big strides in the past 6 months! His twin brother Luke has been a great role model to help him through! Luke is VERY active, so it is cute to watch Max try to keep up with him (which he does, now!).

Keep watching...once my blog reaches 3,000 hits I will offer up some Basic Grey blog candy!!! Here is a hint...look back at some of my previous posts at my cards from the card kit I have talked about!!! :)

What do you think of my new blog background? I finally figured out how to download it from the H of 3 site. Is it too busy? I haven't decided yet. I can't wait to see what else those three ladies come up with on that site! It will be fab, I am sure!

Have a good one!

More Basic Grey Cards!

Okay...here are a couple more cards from that awesome BG card kit I talked about in an earlier post. Both of these cards use DP and elements from the Archaic collection. I wish I would have bought more of these kits! I love that I can throw a card together in a matter of 10-15 minutes without having to think a lot! It was one of those days....

My oldest son has ADHD, and we have had a devil of a time getting the right med and dose for him. The last med he was on did not sit well with him. The side effects that popped up this past month were just not pretty. I pray that this new med will be "the one". I feel so bad for him, and he is old enough to know that he needs help. He calls it his "concentration" medicine. He told the doctor today, "I just want to be able to listen to my teacher and pay attention like a good boy and not hear every car that goes by outside." It just broke my heart!
Keep your fingers crossed that this new med works for him!

Tomorrow will be less stressful...I know this...tomorrow will be a good day.

More VSN Cards!

Just some more cards I made for VSN! Above I used Uspy Daisy from SU.
Papers: Kraft, Very Vanilla, Night of Navy
Ink: Night of Navy
Accesories: silver brads, paper piercing kit from SU

In this card I used the melted crayon technique found HERE. This is such an easy technique to accomplish with some fab results. In the card above I used crayola red and brown. Mixed together it looks like Ridinghood Red.
Stamp: heart is unknown (very old stamp in my collection!)
Paper: Kraft, Chocolate Chip, white
Ink: chocolate chip'
accesories: red and brown crayon, buttons, hemp twine, nesties, lace, paper piercing tools

Last but certainly not least, we were to make a card of our celebrity crush. I have several, but Matthew is my favorite hunky guy! This photo was from a postcard advertisement for People magazine. (No...I did not take this while stalking him on the beach!) No stamping on this card!
Paper: baja breeze, Pumpkin pie, white, black
accesories: ribbon, alpha rub-ons by American crafts, CB embossing folder

The link to my challenge is HERE. I would love to see what you come up with! You have until 10PM tomorrow to participate and upload to the challenge galleries!

HHH and VSN!

Made this card for yesterday's What to Use on SCS. We were to include some kind of stripes on our card. I also made this for Jeanne's Hip Hop challenge to use three of something on a card using Unity stamps. I colored the image with my prisma pencils and used the gamsol magic technique. distressed my paper and added a trio of heart buttons in the corner. I adore this image and love to stamp it on kraft and color it with prismas. In fact...I think prisma pencils are awesome to use with kraft paper. I love the primitive, vintage look you get.

PLEASE come join us tonight and ALL weekend on SCS VSN night!!!! There are going to be soooo many awesome challenges and prizes. It is so much fun to chat, meet new peeps, discover new techniques, and get a ton of cards made! I will be hostessing a challenge Saturday at 1:00 pm eastern, so come on over and see me and the other fabulous hostesses! If you would like more information, just click on my VSN blinkie to the right of the post. Also please feel free to send me a PM on SCS, as I will be on most of the weekend. I will try to answer any and all questions ASAP!

Have a FABULOUS FRIDAY!

This Week's SCS sketch challenge

Here is what I came up with for this weeks sketch challenge which can be found HERE. Those circles had me stumped for awhile! LOL! The first thing that popped into my head when I saw this sketch was boobs! I spent waaaaaay too much time trying to figure out how to make a bra or bikini top out of those circles! Anyway....I bought this adorable set, Love Birdies by Unity and haven't inked it up yet. I really love the way this turned out.
The pink DP and yellow DP is Basic Grey's Urban Prairie. I paper pieced the heart and birdies. I used some of my beloved soft sky paper and CB'd it with swiss dots. There is LOTS of layering on this card. Will probably cost a fortune if I mail it, but probably will save it for one of the upcoming weddings we have this summer.
Today is Hip Hop Thursday over at Unity! Click on my Unity blinkie for more details!

Have a tremendous Thursday!

Where is my Mojo???

So....the little boys are napping, and Will is at school after a four day weekend, and I can't come up with a darn thing! I have sat and sat, and thought, but my creative juices are just not flowing today! Thank heaven for card kits! I pulled out a card kit I bought at Michael's by Basic Grey. Voila'! I came, I saw, I created...even if it wasn't my idea! LOL!

The card base is Bazzil cardstock (not sure what color, it's pink!). The DP is from BG's sugared collection and the darling little chipboard chick, and rub-on sentiment is also BG! I sponged some chocolate chip ink all over the thing to give it a vintage look. I think it turned out pretty cute! Thanks Basic Grey!

I hope that I can find my mojo tomorrow for the card sketch challenge on SCS!

Stay tuned...when my blog reaches 3,000 hits, I will be offering some more blog candy! If you like Basic Grey, you will LOVE my blog candy!!!

Cutie Patootie! SBSC177

I made this LO for Sally's SBSC177 found HERE. I had so much fun doing this, and it came together really quickly. It is a great LO for using up 6x6 pieces of DP! The DP I used here is by My Mind's Eye and SU. I made a lollipop flower, with a button center, and added some DP leaves. I distressed the edges of the paper and sponged chocolate chip ink around the edges. I used Unity's distressed dots background stamp for my stamping. The chipboard letters are Thickers, which I also sponged with chocolate chip ink.
Thanks for stopping by and have a fabulous weekend! I work this weekend, so not a lot of stamping time for me! I am really enjoying being back at work part time. I feel very rejuvinated! I know that sounds corny, but after being home with the boys for almost three years, it is nice to be doing something for me! I am glad that I was fortunate enough to have the option of staying home with them, but am so excited to be doing something else, too!

{{{Hugs!}}}

Emily

P.S. I am attempting to re-vamp my blog but so far I am having some technical difficulties! LOL! Hopefully, someday soon it will be a little more sylish!

Whoo Loves You? HHH

Hello! I made this card for this past week's Unity sketch challenge. I will be giving this to my son for Valentine's Day. All of the DP is from Colorbok's Friendly Forest collection-I am addicted! The sentiment is hand written. I ran out in the rain to snip a twig off of a bush and then had to dry it out with my heat gun since it was wet! LOL! I paper pieced the owl and hand cut the hearts at the bottom from DP. The background stamp is distressed dots from USC.

The strip of scallop edged paper at the top is DP. Someone asked me if they were stamped. The only stamping is the distressed dot background and the owl! The little animals on the top are just part of the paper, and the Unity owl just happens to go really well with it!

Have a fabulous Friday!

Color challenge- It was a doozy!!

So today's color challenge was Kiwi Kiss, Pink Pirouette, and Perfect Plum! YIKES! I was stumped! I have been wanting to ink up this cutie stamp from Unity, so I started with coloring the turtles with kiwi kiss. I then remembered this DP I had from Memory Box (Sprout collection) and it came together. It is pretty girly, so I will probably send this one to my niece! Does anyone else have tons of those large heart shaped eyelets SU sold years ago? I do! I actually used one today! YAY me!

Have a WONDERFUL WEDNESDAY!

Emily

Cut It Out!

This was for the techinique lover's challenge over on SCS found HERE. We were to cut out an image from DP or cut out some dry embossed image to create a border. I chose to cut these flowers out of a piece of American Crafts DP I have had for a long time. When you cut out a certain image from a larger pattern, this is called "fussy cutting". This is a term used in quilting and also recently in the scrapbooking/papercraft world. Just thought I would add that little tidbit, since I got some PM's on SCS asking what that was!
You can see my sheet of DP laying by the card in the photo. I just layered each different flower with a dimensional to give it some depth. I really like the way this one turned out!
Have a terrific Tuesday!

The last of my VSBN layouts!

Hello! These are the last two pages I made for VSBN. Today was the last day to upload your challenge pages. On the page above, we were to use the LO provided and scrap a photo of family members at least two generations apart. This is a photo of my eldest son and my dad. My dad was gaga over Will, as Will was his first grandchild! He even would go clothes shopping for him!!! On this day he bought Will a matching outfit and work boots like his! Unbelievable! I remember this day so vividly because it was just so overwhelming to see my dad just completely smitten with him! Not that I was totally surprised because he was the best dad ever to me! It is just so cool to watch my parents interact with my children! All paper used on this layout is from Cosmo Cricket's Halfway Cafe collection.

On the page below, all elements are from a kit I bought about 4 years ago. I have no clue the maker of the paper and die cuts, so if anyone knows, please tell me and I will give the company credit! This kit is another thing I have been hoarding that I finally used!

Have a marvelous Monday!

Valentine Hugs!

Hello! This is a card I made for the What To Use challenge on SCS found HERE. We were to layer multiple embellishments. I layered ribbon, prima and bling! I also added some dewdrops in the corner. The stamps used are from There She Goes. This was my first purchase from there, and I give them an A+! They shipped my items super fast and they are high quality clear stamps. Nice clean image every time.
The card base is pretty in pink. I also used chocolate chip, purely pomegranate, Berry Bliss and watercolor paper. I love the bottle of all white Primas. I left it white for this card, but you can watercolor the edges or dye the whole thing with reinkers if you need to! You can get the exact color prima you want! Just a little tip!
Have a Super Saturday!

We have a winner! The winner of my blog candy is..................rdoak03 aka-Bekah! Congratulations, Bekah! Bekah completed so many fabulous pages for VSBN this past week! email me or PM me Bekah! Congratulations!

Hip Hop Hangover! TGIF!

Hello! Today is hip hop hangover and these are a couple of scrapbook LO's I did with Unity stamps this past week. The first LO is with flowers from the kit Grow. I love that big flower stamp! (used it on a card last week). The photo is of my sisters and I. I antiqued the photo with my software, but it makes the photo look blurry when I try to photograph the page. It really is cool looking IRL!
The second page uses more paper from my new favorite Friendly Forest line! You all will be sick of it before the month is through! LOL! The blue owl that is perched on the ribbon is a Unity stamp. I thought it went perfectly with the paper!

Thanks for stopping by, and I will announce the winner of my blog candy this afternoon. I have to wait for my son to get home from school because he will be drawing the name and is super excited about it! :)

Have a fantastic Friday!

Card for SCS sketch challenge!

Here is a quick post for today! I worked last night so I have to sleep before going back in again tonight! I made this yesterday, for the sketch challenge over at SCS found HERE. I LOVE this sketch! I really like the clean lines of this sketch and the way you can layer each square or rectangle and get an awesome look!

I used a stamp from SU's Dream du jour set. The leaf patterned and yellow paper are Basic Grey Urban Prairie. The base is baja breeze and I matted each element with black textured. I literally put this card together in about 10 minutes! I am a HUGE fan of sketch challenges for both cards and scrapbooking! It saves me oodles of time, and I get to use my time thinking of what yummy paper or stamp to use instead of the LO! Go and try this one out! You will love it!

Have a tremendous Thursday!

Friendly Forest Paper-You gotta go buy some!

Today I have more VSBN pages to share with you. The page above is paper from Colorbok's new Friendly Forest collection. I LOVE this collection! It is so whimsical and darn cute! If you live in Ohio, you better buy some quick because every store I walk in that has it, I just keep buying more!!! LOL! You can buy this HUGE kit for $12.99 at Michael's, AND paper pad's are 30% off right now! You get like 20 sheets of 12x12 paper and TONS of diecuts such as tags, alphabets, journal boxes, photo corners, frames, etc.!

The page below uses SU's Creative License Simply Scrappin' kit. Love that one, too! The title is thickers chipboard. I doodled around the edge and around the title circle.

Remember to scroll down and leave a comment if you want a chance at the blog candy! My son will pick a random winner on Friday!

Have a wonderful Wednesday!

A Little Hello!

With all of the scrappin' I did this past weekend, I just had to do a card! I made this for the sketch challenge over at Unity found HERE. Amber always has a great sketch, and this is the first time I have had time to do it!

All stamps are from Unity. The yellow leaves are from the gratitude=joy set and the bird is from a set that I can't remember the name of! The base is baja breeze and the DP is from Basic Grey's Urban Prairie collection. I added some primas and a button in the middle (so saffron button). The scallop strip with the sentiment is from an old card kit by My Mind's Eye that I have had forever!I drew in some branches for the bird to sit on and sponged baja breeze ink to create a sky look in the background!

Have a terrific Tuesday!

More VSBN Pages!

Here are a couple more LO's I made over the weekend for VSBN. The page above is of a vase of wildflowers I picked at my parent's cottage in Michigan this past summer. We were to scrap something we loved, and I love wildflowers! For as long as I remember, I have been enthralled with wildflowers. As a little girl, I would pick wildflowers along the edge of the woods and road for my mom and she would put them in the very vase shown in the photo above! My son picked these flowers for my mother this past summer, so the tradition continues!

The LO above I made for the challenge I hosted. My oldest son at Christmas opening gifts at my parent's house.

Remember to post a comment in my blog candy thread for a chance to win! My son will draw a random winner on Friday when he gets home from school! (He is super excited about this)

Have a marvelous Monday!

Have a great Superbowl Sunday and GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Cardinals! I don't really follow the Cardinals, but I can't stand the Steeler's, so anyone they play I root for!
