ETSY Inspired #38! Bird is the word!

This week's Etsy Inspired challenge is Bacon Square Farm. They have some whimsical birdhouses and garden picks for your inspiration this week!

My card base is Really Rust and I used DP from Chloe's Closet Collection by Making Memories. I stamped the "for you" from SU's Great Friend set in Chocolate Chip ink. I used some So Saffron ribbon at the top and the DP flower and button embellishment is also from the Chloe's Closet collection.

This card was super easy to make! It took about 5 minutes!

If you participate in the Etsy challenge please upload your creation HERE by next Friday!

Hip Hop Hooray!

Hello! Happy Hip Hop Hangover! I made this card yesterday, and can you believe that I saw the biggest double rainbow yesterday evening after a rain shower?! Rainbows just make me happy! I think that no matter how many I see, or how old I get, I will always stop to look in wonder and awe.
The DP is from K&Co's Daydream collection. I just love the whimsical papers in that pack! The stamps are from Unity's March KOTM. I colored it in with my SU markers and then cut it out and layered it over the craft. I paper pierced around the edge and added some heart buttons. That luscious ribbon was a steal at Wal-Mart! Only $1.99!

Have a great weekend!

I will have blog candy posted tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!!

A sketch challenge at The Digi Shack!

This week The Digi Shack has a sketch challenge for you! I used this adorable drink image and paper pieced the glass and the umbrella with some SU DSP. I changed the small square in the upper right corner to a circle in the lower right. Added some Michael's bridal confetti flowers with some bling along the side. I am not really sure why I colored the straw bright green (it doesn't match ANYTHING), but it is what it is!!! If I had it to do over, I would make it baja breeze! LOL!
I hope you play along with the sketch this week!
I will have blog candy tomorrow!!! My hits reached 10,000! YAY!

Have a great day!

Berry Best sketch challenge!

Hello! I made this card for the sketch challenge over on SCS. I really struggled with this one, at first, but that is why they call them challenges, right?! I am pleased with the end result. The stamps are from Artful Inkables. I am going to plug this stamp company because they have some wonderful stamps, and don't get the recognition they deserve. These stamps are deeply etched red rubber and are packaged THE BEST! I am all about great packaging! I know exactly where they are and when I am done I just stick them right back in the snap container! I have included some photos of the packaging. This set was only $9.95! There prices are really reasonable. They just came out with some new releases, and I can't wait to get some new stamps from them! Go check them out HERE.
See what I mean about the packaging! FABULOUS!

Have a great day!

Clean and Simple Butterfly

Hello! Hope you all have had a great holiday weekend! I made this card for the CAS challenge over at SCS. We were to re-do a card we had previously made. I chose to re-do THIS card. I basically changed everything but the layout. I used the SU set Great Friend for today's card. The base is baja breeze. I used a blender pen and reinker to color in the white areas of the butterfly. I also cut out the butterfly and popped it up with dimensionals.

Stay tuned...I will have blog candy when my blog hits reach 10,000!

A contemporary First Communion Card!

Hello! I made this card for my nephew, Logan. He is celebrating his First Communion today. I decided not to do a typical religious card. I love this funky paper from K&Co (Daydream collection). The stamp is from the dollar bin at Michael's that I have had forever!

I was inspired by THIS card. Mercy is the featured stamper on SCS today. I pretty much changed everything except the LO of the card! I think this LO is fab!

I hope you are all having a wonderful holiday weekend! It is a scorcher here, today! Very humid! YUCK!

Thanks for stopping by!

Etsy Inspired Challenge #37

This week's Etsy shop is sunbasilgarden.

They have some of the cutest handmade soaps I have seen! They have a soap to match anyone's taste or any occasion. I was inspired to make my card from the soap in the photo above. It screams summer, to me! One of my co-workers just had some surgery, so I think I may order this soap for her and send it along with the matching card. A super cute gift for someone recovering from surgery.

Make sure you check out the other Etsy Inspired team projects. Just look on my side bar for the other DT members and the links to their blogs.

I used various circle punches on my flower and hand cut the stem and leaf. I also used the eyelet border punch on the side panel. My card base is white and I used wild wasabi, pumpkin pie, and so saffron. The ribbon is so saffron (from this year's celebration). The sentiment is from PTI's Mixed Messages.

Thanks for stopping by!

HOME with a HIP HOP HANGOVER!

It's another Hip Hop Hangover kind of day! Check out Unity's site for some great deals this weekend! 30% off all stamps!
I made this card for the Unity Oh, my word! challenge. We were to use words as the focal point of our card. This stamp is from Unity's May KOTM. I colored the letters with prisma pencils and blended with OMS. I tied some hemp twine at the top and hand cut a heart and attached it with a jump ring. I have some of those left over from my jewelry making days! LOL! I sponged chocolate chip ink around the edges and distressed the edges of the sentiment.
Have a fabulous Friday!

TDSC06-A color challenge!

Hello! It is time for another challenge over at The Digi Shack! This week is a color challenge. You are to use black, bashful blue, taken with teal, and grey is optional. You do not have to use SU colors, just something along these lines will work! I was really stumped at first, but love the funky look of these colors together. This week I made a layout and used a sentiment from The Digi Shack along with some digi paper.

I love incorporating flowers into my boy's pages. I think you can pull it off as long as you use bright or funky colors. I thought this color combo was perfect.
The scalloped flower paper is from colorbok as are the die-cut buttons. I used some teal, felt ric-rac and created the scallop border with a SU punch.

When uploading to an online gallery please use keyword TDSC06. Hope you play along!

Botanical Hello

Hello! I made this for the CAS challenge on SCS. We were to use black, white and a bold bright! I stamped my leaf image in green galore and then "stamped off" to get the two tones. I am loving the big script "Hello" from Unity's April KOTM! I just realized I have been using it on a lot of my cards!
I needed a quick clean and simple challenge today. Most of my family, including me were up puking all night! YUCK! My oldest son was so upset that he had to miss school today. He hasn't missed a day all year. I felt so bad for him!
I hope you all are well! Thanks for stopping by! I love reading your comments!

Some Unity...for you!!!

Hello! I made this for the MAY09VSNG challenge. We were to use gridwork on our card and sponging (like in BINGO)! I just received my Unity May KOTM in the mail today, so I had to ink it up!!! I used my SU 1 1/4 square punch to punch the squares out of DP from K&Co's Saffron collection. My card base is white and is 4 1/4 x 4 1/4. I paper pieced the mushroom tops in coordinating DP and colored the stems with copics. Added some hemp twine at the top and voila! This is a really quick card to make with a lot of color! The hardest part was paper piecing!
Have a great Sunday!

YAY! I had been asked to be a guest designer for the month of June, but Ashley asked me this week if I wanted a permanent postition instead! I just adore her challenges and was thrilled for the opportunity! Thanks Ashley!

This weeks Etsy challenge (EIC 36) is DogboneArt. They have the cutest robot T-shirts. The first thing I thought of was my Cosmo Cricket Cogsmo paper pack that I have been hoarding! I decided to make a scrapbook page of Luke, who went through a stage where he would absolutely NOT smile for anyone! I decided to scrap the memory so that someday people would know why he is so stonefaced during his 1 year old stage!

Digi Shack sketch challenge-TDSC05

I made this origami box for this weeks Digi Shack sketch challenge. I created the sunset behind Lani by masking with a circle and using summer sun, pumpkin pie, and ruby red inks. I sponged the sun set. I colored Lani with prisma pencils and blened with OMS. To see how to make this cute little box click HERE. Everything is explained in the first link of that thread. My 8 yr. old loves to make these boxes! This is a fun project to do with kids and to give as gifts.

The paper is summer sun, pumpkin pie, the red is a scrap and the DP used for the box is K&Co Daydream collection.

If you decide to join the challenge make sure you use the keyword TDSC05 when uploading to online galleries!

Have fun!

Welcome Baby Sarah!

That's my baby sis with her new baby, Sarah and hubby Jack! Aren't they sweet? Big sister Lily is not in the photo. She visited with her grandpa and nana earlier, but was super excited about her new sister!
Isn't she precious? She has gorgeous skin and the longest eyelashes EVAH!

The whole time I held her at the hospital she made the sweetest little cooing sounds! And her sweet little baby smell was awesome! I can't wait to spoil her rotten! My boys are anxiously awaiting her arrival home this evening, since they were not allowed to visit at the hospital!
I may or may not have a card later, but will have The Digi Shack challenge of the week tomorrow!
Thanks for stopping by and sharing my excitement over my new niece!

You Lucky Duck!

Hi! Sorry for the late post! My sister had her baby today! I just had to go see her and she is adorable! Everyone is healthy and doing great! I will upload some photos of her tomorrow!
I made this card for the color challenge on SCS today. Only Orange, summer sun, and kiwi kiss. Thought it was perfect for this Inkadinkadoo image. The DP is from Colorbok's Friendly Forest. The ribbon is American Crafts. I colored this guy with my prisma pencils and used OMS to blend. I am loving my prisma pencils! I have always been a marker kind of girl, but my taste has changed. Funny how that happens and you don't really realize it!
Hope you all had a terrific Tuesday!

Best Wishes For A Good Hair Cut Day!

Another post for today! WOW! This morning I took the twins to get their hair cut...ALONE! Hubby is out of town, and they were getting pretty shaggy, so I thought what the heck! Instead of taking them to the barber, the one that my husband INSISTS on going to because it is the same barber he went to when he was a boy, I took them to Cookie Cutters. OMG! I will never set foot in a barber shop again! It was the best hair cutting experience with children of my life! They got to watch their favorite movies and sit in cars, got suckers, balloons, got to play on an indoor jungle gym on a rainy day! Amazing! I think I would have paid $30 a piece to have that hair cutting experience again! LOL! It was $28 for both of them which is not that much more than the barber! If you have never tried a Cookie Cutters...GO! It is so worth it and will save you so much crying and stress! Okay...on to the card...

Made this one for the sketch challenge on SCS. Hadn't inked up Oval All or Botanical blooms from SU, so I pulled them out of the box and paired them up with A Walk In The Park DSP. I added some dew drop pearls and some ribbon. I will be giving this to my baby sitters son, who is getting married at the end of the month.

Thanks for stopping by! I will have blog candy on Friday!

Live Simply

Here is a CAS SB page I did for Jen Buck's simple scrapbook challenge over at The Unity Place. This photo is of Max last summer sitting on the shore of my parents place in Michigan. He was so enthralled with the rocks and the reeds.
The paper is Wild Wasabi with kraft overlay. I used the stampin up eyelet punch for the border. The DP is MM Chloe's Closet. The stamped sentiments are Unity stamped in Wild Wasabi. I added some ribbon to the bottom and some bling to the corner.
I love clean and simple LO's!
Thanks for looking!

THE DIGI SHACK New Releases!

This week The Digi Shack is releasing new images, including this lovely little island girl, Lani! Isn't she adorable? I am lovin' Lani! I colored her with prisma pencils and blended with OMS. The "Aloha" sentiment is from a sheet of Hawaiian tags that will be available. They are perfect to go with your Lani images. The card base is 5x5 in certainly celery. The DSP is from my old stash of SU paper called Island Blooms. I used my nesties to frame the image and sentiment in Tempting Turquoise, and then added some certainly celery twill on the side.
Make sure you check out The Digi Shack's new releases. You will be entered to win free images with any purchase from "The Shack"!

Thanks for stopping by! Thursday I will have a great sketch challenge with another new image from The Digi Shack!

Happy Birthday Max & Luke!

I do have a card for today, so scroll down if you want to see it!

I can't believe that my baby boys are 3 today! It seems like just yesterday, I brought them home from the hospital. We had a family party yesterday for them. We bought them this blow up bouncer for their big present and they had such a blast! Luke is in the photo above and Max is below. I had to put a pic of Will in here too, so he wouldn't feel left out!

Will age 8. He is getting so big and grown up! Hard to believe!

Max and Luke age 3 months! I love the photo's from this particular photo shoot!

This is a double duty challenge card! I made this for an entry for Unity's KOTM guest design challenge and for Ashley's EIC34. I couldn't find any monster stamps that didn't scream Halloween to me, so I took my inspiration from the colors on this little guy found HERE. I think these guys are hysterical! I love that she gives them each a name and a fact about them.

I used black, kraft, and riding hood red cardstock. The ribbon is from Michael's. I used the textile CB folder for the black panel behind my butterfly image. All stamps are from Unity's April KOTM. I added some rhinestones to the butterfly body. Hubby is going out of town this week, so I may just slip this into his suitcase. Even if the butterfly isn't masculine, the colors are!

Hope you have a Marvelous Monday! I have a day all to myself with no boys, so I am hoping to get some scrapbooking accomplished!

SHINE!

Hi! I made this page for a guest designer challenge over at UNITY. This is an old photo of my oldest son at his 5th birthday party with one of his friends. He just turned 8, so yes, I am way behind on my scrapping! LOL!
I used paper from Colorbok's Friendly Forest (have I mentioned how much I love it) and the base is kraft. I sponged chocolate chip ink around the edges. All stamps are from Unity's April KOTM. I stamped the butterflies on the DP and then cut them out.
Check back this week! It has been awhile since I have offered any blog candy, so I have decided this is the week!

Thanks for stopping by!

Etsy inspired challenge #33

Hello! I made this for Ashley's EIC33. I was inspired by the colors in the beautiful yarn found HERE. I have had this stamp from MFT for a while and just now inking it up!!! I used my prisma pencils to color it in and OMS for blending. The sentiment is from PTI's Mixed Messages-this is my "go to" sentiment set, in case you haven't noticed! LOL! The DP was a freebie from MFT in one of my recent orders.

This card will go to my friend and co-worker who's MIL just passed away.

Thanks for stopping by and have a marvelous weekend!

A Hip Hop Hangover and anesthesia hangover!

Hello! I started to make this page for the anniversary color challenge on The Unity forum at SCS. The colors are kraft, so soffron, ruby red and baja breeze. I finished it this morning, but not sure that I should have! LOL! I had some minor surgery yesterday and I think I have an anesthesia hangover! I am so bummed that I missed out on so much of the anniversary week festivities! I may try to play catch up today and get some more down, but my brain is just not functioning!
I used stamps from the march KOTM and all paper is from K&Co's Saffron collection. The base is kraft paper. I did some paper pleating and tied some jute twine around it and added some buttons at the bottom.

I think my scrapbook mojo is still on vacation! I haven't done a page in a while because I have been in a rut! Thanks for looking anyway! Have a great day!
