Just a quick shout out to my peeps!

Hello! Just wanted to let everyone know that I am taking a little vacation up north, so I won't be posting as frequently this coming week! If I am able to get internet access where we are going (which is doubtful) I will check in! I have a few posts scheduled while I am gone, so hopefully blogger will cooperate!

Have a wonderful Fourth of July holiday!

Glitter on the front porch...Glitter on the highway....

This is for the CAS21. We were to add sparkle to our card. My base is kraft and I cut a piece of BG's Sultry paper for the front. I added crystal effects and glitter to parts of the green flowers. Stamped directly onto the DP with the frame and sentiment from Great Friend by SU. The ribbon came with a purse that you can change out the ribbons that tie around it. I NEVER wear hot pink so it was perfect for ribbon stash!

I hope you all have a great day!

RIP Michael and a challenge for you

I had to do another post today. This card is obviously a tribute to MJ. What a super talented guy he was! I know that his behavior as an adult was any thing less than strange and bizarre, but I LOVE his music. If you played Thriller right now, I could sing every word AND do the dance...yes...the entire dance! I owned black leather pants as a child and an orange pleather jacket. I also spent many hours on the playground having moonwalk contests. He contributed so much to the music industry.
Sometimes I wonder if he struggled as an adult, because he was never allowed to be a child. I hope that he is at peace now and that all of his demons have been put to rest.

So here is another thought...I am throwing out a Michael Jackson challenge to you all. Make a card or a project inspired by The King of Pop. Link it here and use keyword RIPMJ when uploading to on line galleries.

Can't wait to see what you come up with.

I hear ice cream is good for a Hip Hop Hangover!

Back in my college days, I had a friend who swore that if you ate a big bowl of ice cream when you got home from the bars, you would NOT have a hangover in the morning! LOL! I never tried it. The thought of ice cream and beer just wasn't for me!

The images are from Unity's June KOTM. I used some certainly celery twill ribbon at the top. I used my nesties and SU oval punches. I colored the image with my prisma's and blended with OMS. I added some crystal effects and glitter on my ice cream cone. This was for Jeanne's pink and green Hip Hop challenge. I love those colors together! I won a free stamp set for my card for this challenge! YAY! This is why everyone should participate in HIP HOP! Unity is so generous with their give aways!

Hope you have a fabulous Friday!

A Digi Shack Sketch Challenge and DT call!

Here is this week's sketch challenge over at The Digi Shack. I used one of the new Lani images. I hope I don't offend any airforce folks because I matched her uniform to my DP. I think the DP is from Cosmo Cricket. It came in a kit I bought from Taylored Expressions, so I am unsure. I colored her with copics and used a sizzix button die for the buttons. The thank you sentiment is from Unity.

Don't forget about the design team call for The Digi Shack! We are looking for a spotlight guest designer for July and 5-6 design team positions. Check out all of the details HERE.

Have a great day and remember to add TDSC11 as your keyword when uploading to galleries. Also link your card on TDS website!

MSB ceLebRate gal!

Sorry no cards for awhile! My hubby lost his job, so I have not been in a very creative mood. I need to get out of this funk, though! I think we are going to take the twins to the outdoor waterpark at the YMCA by our house. Will is at basketball camp this week, so he really is clueless to what is going on. The good news is that I am a nurse, so plenty of hours available for me to work at the hospital. Keep us in your prayers that hubby finds a new job soon! Now...on to the card!

The gal is from MSB (Modern Sugar Blvd.). I thought she was super cute. I paper pieced her shirt with DSP from SU's retired Jersey shore collection. The white card base is paper pierced around the edge and so is the orange DSP square. I colored her with prisma pencils and blended wit OMS. The sentiment is from Unity and I colored the individual letters with my SU markers.

Hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday!

A spot of tea, for your Hip Hop Hangover!

Hello! Happy Hip Hop Hangover! I made this card for the WT223, to use text on our card, and I also tried Jen Del Muro's pizza box tutorial on SCS. These little boxes are so quick and easy to make! You should try one!
I used stamps from Unity's June KOTM. The box is kraft and the DP is Chloe's Closet by MM. I used a nestie in ballet blue to mat my image. The image is stamped in memento tuxedo black and colored with prisma pencils and blended with OMS. The corkboard flower is from Chloe's closet line, too.
Thanks for stopping by, today! Hope you all are well! I have a hot date with my hubby tonight! I am trying to decide where to go for dinner...hmmm....Japanese steak house or seafood?

I really LOVED the color challenge yesterday. This also is for this week's CAS challenge on SCS. The stamps are from Unity's April KOTM. Paper is baja breeze, ruby red, and white. Inks are baja breeze, ruby red and black. Tied some riding hood red ribbon at the top.

I am excited because my sister is coming over today to scrapbook with me! We haven't done this together in a long time! Hopefully, my boys will nap at the appropriate time! LOL!

Have a great day!

I also made this for the color challenge on SCS-use baja breeze, ruby red and white. I have no clue who makes this DP, but I am thinking it is Cosmo Cricket. The sentiment is from SU's retired Ahoy Matey set.

Thanks for all of the well wishes! I am feeling MUCH better! I am going to try to get caught up on visiting blogs tonight!

The base of my card is chocolate chip and the DP is from Basic Grey's Mellow collection. I also used some ridinghood red to mat the tree image. The tree image is from SU's Forest Friends and the sentiment is from Great Friend. The ribbon is SU ridinghood red.

Havin' a happy happy happy Hip Hop Hangover!!!!

Hey there peeps! I made this SB layout for the Unity hip hop challenge-use kraft paper on a project. The DP is from love, Elsie collection and so are the chipboard stickers. I sponged chocolate chip ink around the edges and paper pierced along the bottom and the upper left corner. I stamped the "happy" in choclate chip ink. That stamp is from Unity's May KOTM. The photo is of my oldest son at parent's place in Northern Michigan last summer. I can't wait to be there! We will be going in July. If you are reading this Judy, can't wait to see you up there! HUGS!

Have a fabulous Friday!

TDSC09-Bridal Lani!

card recipe:
paper-white, black Dp Urban Prairie
scallop oval punch, bling, prisma pencils, OMS for blending and black satin ribbon.

Hello! Sorry I have been MIA the past couple of days. I have worked the past two nights at the hospital and had no babysitter! YIKES! My butt is dragging! This week's challenge at The Digi Shack is a sketch. I used an image that will be released on the 15th! The new Lani images are just sooooooo darn cute! You will love them! I don't know if you can see or not, but I used some tiny rhinestones for her earrings and her ring. Sorry for the yucky photo but it has been overcast here the past few days. If you play along use keyword TDSC09 in the gallery. Also leave us a link to your card at The Digi Shack in the challenge post!

Have a great day!

A Clean And Simple Thank You!

YAY! My computer is back in business! My computer was completely locked up yesterday. Thankfully, a neighbor came over and helped me get it back up and running! I am so computer challenged. It is good to have friends that are computer programer's! LOL! This morning I made this little thank you ensemble to thank my neighbor for helping me out!

This also is for today's CAS challenge on SCS. We were to use some sort of coral color and kraft. I pulled out my groovy guava and my slim vase stamp from UNITY. The sentiment is from PTI, and the ribbon is May Arts.

The matching gift bag is a mini brown lunch sack that I used my oval punch to make a cut out at the top. I tied a ribbon at the top and stamped the slim vase image on both sides of the bag. I will fill it up with some candy.

Thanks for stopping by!

Etsy Inspired 39-Ribbon, flowers and tutus...oh my!

This week's Etsy shop for your inspiration is Chicy Creations. They have lots of cute hair bows, flowers and tutus to get your creative juices flowing. My favorite embellishment in the world is ribbon, so this shop was very inspiring!

Originally, I picked the bow below for my inspiration. I love chocolate and that shade of blue together. When I started making this card for the one layer card (OLC) challenge on SCS today, I ended up changing the chocolate to black!

I used a scrap of paper that I had used to cut a scallop rectangle nestie as a template and then sponged soft sky and baja breeze inside. I stamped the flowers in black and my sentiment in black and tied some satin ribbon at the top! EASY PEASY!

This reverse masking technique is really easy, and you can use any size or shape. I like using it for one layer cards to jazz them up a bit and create the illusion of another layer.

If you participate in the challenge use keyword EIC39 when uploading to online galleries. Also link you card HERE for a chance to win a prize! :) Check out the other DT members creations. The links to their galleries are on my side bar------->

Have a great weekend!

I love this set and just got it this past week! It's very versatile! I stamped Unity's distressed dots on my card base. Everything is stamped in memento tuxedo black, and the phone is paper pieced with SU real red DSP.

Double challenge card!

I made this for the sketch challenge over on SCS and for The Digi Shack challenge. This week the Digi Shack is having a color challenge. Regal Rose, kiwi kiss, bordering blue. Remember, you don't have to use SU colors. You can use anything similiar. I actually substituted the bordering blue for baja breeze. The DP is from SU's A Walk In The Park collection. I colored my image with prisma pencils and reinkers. The sentiment is from Verve.
I love this vase image from The Digi Shack. Soooo fun to color!
Thanks for stopping by and hope you get a chance to do the challenge!

I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings...

I am a big fan of Maya Angelou, and this stamp from Unity's May KOTM, just reminds me of that book!!! I made this card for the Unity Guest Designer contest. We were to use stamps from the May or April KOTM and make a monochromatic card.
This stamp is from the May KOTM. The base and scallop edge are black, and the DP is from BG's Urban Prairie collection. I added some pretty in pink taffetta ribbon and some bling. The image is stamped on Pink Pirouette with tuxedo black memento ink.
A nice clean layout for a gorgeous image and sentiment!

Thanks for stopping by! I love reading your comments!

CAS17-A LL Bean inspired card!

Today's CAS challenge on SCS, was to be inspired by the totes and the beach towels in the LL Bean catalog. I am a fan of their famous totes, so I drew inspiration from the colors of the totes. I thought this DP was perfect for a beach themed card. The sentiment is from SU's Life's A Breeze set. I have no clue who makes the paper. I recently ordered a Key Ingredient kit from Taylored Expressions with this cardstock and DP in it. The card base reminds me of Soft Sky, though!!!
Thanks for stopping by! Have a Marvelous Monday!
