Shaped Cards are Easy Peasy!

Paper:  Neenah Classic Crest, Black

Hello! Today I have a CAS card using Nestabilities.  I used labels 2 for this card.  For my card base I used the largest size, and for the image panel-one size smaller.  The images are from Unity's February retail kit.  I colored the lanterns with Copics from the October kit.  Here is a trick when making shaped cards.  Use your scor pal or other scoring tool, and score 1/4" down from top of the back of card base.  Apply some adhesive to the small area above the score line and stick the front on.  This allows the card to open and close freely and stand up on it's own.  You also don't have to compromise the shape of your card by folding the top and losing the shape.  One of my big pet peeves is seeing a beautiful scallop circle card with the scallops bent at the top from folding.  This quick and easy step eliminates that, and works for any shaped card!  See the photo below:
Hope you give a shaped card a try using this trick!

Thanks for stopping by!

What a great idea for your shaped card! I also like to cut out the card, even with that little piece missing, and then cut another shape of the same size and glue it on to make that the actual front. You end up with a thicker card front, but works nicely too.
