Moxie Fab Metallics Challenge

Hello! I am squeaking out another of these Moxie Fab challenges by the hair of my chinie-chin-chin!  For the metallic color challenge we were to use Gold Leaf Metallic, Satin Wedding White, and Pinkini (or very close equivalents)!

For my white, I used some of my old Stampin' Up Shimmerz paper.  IRL, it looks really beautiful!  The card base is Pink Pirouette.  I stamped a sentiment from PTI's Fillable Frames #4.  I hand cut some hearts and then punched a hole through them to string on my gold cord.  I then added the gold rhinestones, once I had them in place on my card.  I used my scor-pal to make the diagonal lines on the white panel.

Thanks for taking a peek!

You're Sew Lovely....

For today's Inspiration challenge over on SCS, I was inspired by the colors in the fabric below from THIS site:

Love that dress form stamp!  I added some scrunched up, distressed doily's to the top to look like old lace or an old handkerchief.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

FWF-Happiness is always available...

Hello! The other day I ran in Michael's, and found these cute little frames in the dollar bin.  The damask background was the paper inside the frame. I liked it, so I used it for the background beneath my stamped image.  I hadn't inked up this image from the December KOTM.  I colored it with my prisma pencils and cut it out and mounted it to the center.  This makes for an easy, inexpensive gift or home decor!

Irish Blessing...(second post for today!)

For today's What To Use, we were to use a rainbow or rainbow colors on our card.  I used stamps from The Stamps Of Life, shamrocks4us set.  I stamped my pot of shamrocks and irish blessing then drew the rainbow with copic makrers.  I added some baker's twine to the top to finish it off.  I LOVE this set!
Remember...if you are a club member you get 15% off all of the other stamp releases, AND shipping is $1.00 a set ($1.50 Cananda).  Even if you aren't a club member, you can get this set for $12.95 with $1 shipping!

Go Away, Birdie!

Hello! I am so terrible at taking photos of my scrapbook layouts! I try everything, but they never look clear to me. sigh....
This is a layout of Max, one of my twins.  He was three at the time and we had stopped to get a snack and some lemonade at Epcot.  He was very distressed about the birds that were running around waiting for someone to drop some food.  He never took his eyes off of them, and we actually had to take his snack and drink with us to a new location so that he would drink!  Max has SID (sensory integration disorder) so these types of situations can really send him over the edge.  Max is talking TONS more, but at the time his words were few and far between, but he very loudly was telling the bird to "GO AWAY"!
I journaled on the tag that is sticking out of the photo of the birdie!

Hop on over to Paper Maniac...

Accessories:  Copic markers; May Arts ivory burlap string; vintage button

Hello! Today I have a fun birthday card using some Pink Cat Studios stamps.  Being the mother of three boys, I am a big fan of their Billy stamps.  Lily is pretty darn cute, too!  I colored the image with copic markers and sponged some distress ink around the edges.  I used some fun Pink Paislee DP from the Old School collection.  I love the muted primary colors that are perfect for everything "little boy"!

Make sure you check out the progressive sale going on at Paper Maniac.  Currently, the clearance items are marked down an additional 20%.  The Billy stamps and the Old School DP are both marked down.  Get them before they are gone.  Paper Maniac is making room for all the new CHA releases headed to the store!

Moxie Fab Neutral color challenge....

This is for the Moxie Fab Neutral color inspiration challenge.  I fussy cut some Anna Griffin DP and then matted it with some Bordering Blue after running it through my cuttle bug with the textile folder.  The sentiment is from Unity.  The card base is kraft.  I really love the simplicity of this.  Below, you will find the colors for this challenge:
The Bazzill equivalents are French Vanilla, Twig and Smoky.

Creating stamped backgrounds using sentiments...

Hello! Today's post features cards I made for the Free 4 All challenge on SCS.  The challenge was to create a background on your card, by repeatedly stamping sentiments.   I hadn't done this in ages!  It was so much fun, I made two cards.

The second card uses stamps from Melody Ross's Domestic Bliss kit by Unity.  I used two different color pink inks for the cake, and then lined some hot pink Kaiser pearls between the two layers.  My background panel was created using the "eat cake" sentiment.  I distressed all of the paper using Old Paper distress ink.

The second card is for the Moxie Fab Monochromatic color challenge.  You can see the colors below:
The Bazzill equivalents are Bubblegum, Precious, and Pinkini.

Top O' the morning to ya!

Hello!  Today's cards are made with a new release set from The Stamps Of Life, shamrocks4us.  I have Irish heritage (maternal grandfather) so celebrating St. Patrick's Day is a BIG DEAL in my family!  My grandfather would have LOVED receiving a handmade St. Paddy's Day card!  He would ALWAYS call us very early on St. Patrick's Day morning.  My sister's and I would race for the phone to hear him say, "Top O' the mornin' to ya"!  It is such a fun memory of my papa!
As a college gal, I celebrated with "kegs and eggs".  Nothing like green beer and eggs to start off the morning!  Now, we go to my mom's for corned beef, potatoes and cabbage.  When we get to her house, she and my dad have a path of gold coins and candy up the sidewalk and all over their porch and back deck for the grandkids.  They LOVE it!  Even my almost ten year old still gets excited.
I am a traditionalist.  I LOVE tradition.  I think it is so important for kids to have that.  It doesn't have to be anything fancy or expensive, but just the anticipation of a family tradition is something that I will never outgrow.  It may be the plates mom uses at Thanksgiving, or the trail of gold coins on the sidewalk on St. Patrick's Day, but it always brings smiles for both the young and old!

FWF-Live, Laugh, Love...

Happy Friday!  I made both of these cards for the Monday CAS challenge on SCS.  This week's CAS challenge was based on a sketch, so that is why the layouts are very similar on both cards!  I really like how these turned out.  I have had the live, laugh, love girl stamp for awhile, but haven't used it yet!  I really love that image, but have found it hard to use on a card. Don't know why!

The first card uses stamps from THIS KOTM. This card took me a few minutes to make...really.  I think I will replicate these for nieces and nephews.  I always try to send them Valentine's in the mail, and these will be perfect.  I can change the color of the heart for the guys!

Hope you have a fabulous Friday!

Some more Memory Box....

Hello! Today I have another card using some Memory Box, Pixie DP.  I fussy cut that branch out and then glued it down to some of the lighter DP.  The background stamps are from Unity's Iron Orchid set, My Dear and the sentiment is from a Unity KOTM (October, maybe?).
I added some coffee dyed seam binding and a blooomer.  I can never get those gorgeous flowers to look right, so I scrunched one up into a bow and tied it on!  I added a Tim Holtz safety pin and a Maya Road stick pin.

Paper Maniac has a BIG selection of Memory Box papers in the store. Check em' out! :)

LOVE me some Memory Box!

Paper:white, brown, pink,  kraft cardstock, Memory Box Dp-Pixie collection
Accessories:  Cosmo Cricket Tiny Type, baker's twine, Wilton paper doily, vintage button, border punch

Hello! Today I have a card using some of the new Memory Box Pixie DP.  I love the whimsical patterns of this collection.  I love the paper with the deer, so I decided to punch out one of the deer couples, and frame it with some scallop nesties.  I then scrunched and pleated a doily to frame the scallops.  The pink rose bud DP is also from the Pixie collection.  I used Cosmo Cricket's Tiny Type alphas for my sentiment.

Make sure you check out the fabulous progressive sale going on at Paper Maniac!  Paper Maniac is making room for all of the new goodies that will be released after CHA!

Rockin' Rhinestones-second post for the day...

Hello! I made this card for the color challenge over on SCS-bravo burgundy, pear pizazz, and baja breeze.  We were also encouraged to try and incorporate one of the color words into the theme of our card.  I decided to go with "bravo".  Today, I don't think we hear "bravo" as much as "you rock"!  The stamp is from The Stamps Of Life labels2use set.  I added tons of rhinestones to this one!  Maybe too many rhinestones! LOL!  I also used DP and a journal circle from Basic Grey's Oliver collection.  It seemed the perfect fit for today's color combo!
I think this would be a great card to give to a teen.  I guess a teenage girl now that I added all that bling!

Thanks for stopping by again today!

H{ippity} Hop-Sending My Love...

 REMOVED
FOR PUBLICATION
(be back soon!)

Hello! Today I have a card I made with the ippity set, What YOU Doin'.  This set makes the PERFECT CAS cards!  I stamped the envelope with the heart seal several times and colored the hearts with a red copic marker.  I then cut out only the heart on all of the images but one. Glued them down on the center white panel after paper piercing along the edge and stamping the sentiment.

I love the way this turned out! You could send this to someone for Valentine's Day, get well wishes, or someone going through a rough time.

The shamrock is from shamrocks4us, a new release set.  The good luck sentiment is from banners4all.  I made this card for the Featured Stamper challenge over on SCS.  Today's featured stamper is Tracy (whoistracy) She makes some awesome CAS style cards.  I was inspired by her card HERE

Flowers2build and Creations2fill-Second post for the day-scroll down for more!

Hello! I told ya I would have some more goodies for you today!  This flower birthday gift set is made using some SUPER FABULOUS stamps from The Stamps Of Life.  Remember that awesome butterfly set? Well...the stamps to fill in the butterfly wings also work on the petals in the flowers on this set!  Is that cool or what? I love it when different sets work together.  The big flower on top of my little mason jar candle is a magnet!  I layered up the different size flowers, added some coats of Martha Stewart's version of Modge Podge, stuck a brad through the middle and adhered a magnet to the back.  Since the top of the mason jar candle is tin, it sticks right on!  After the candle has bit the dust, the recipient will have a magnet for their fridge.  I made a little tag for the candle with the set minis4circles.

Here are the fab sets used for the flowers:
The petals are stamped with the wings from the set in THIS post. LOVE THAT.

This little birthday card/candle/magnet giftie works perfectly for this week's EIC122 challenge.  Just look at those flowers below (even though I made the card and candle weeks ago, I am still playing)!

Wishing Tree-OCL48

Hello! I made this card for two challenges. For the OCL48 over on the Our Craft Lounge blog, we were to use two different types of ribbon.  I used some celery twill ribbon and some baker's twine from The Twinery.  For the F4A47 on SCS, we were to add texture to our card with embossing folders.  I used my all time favorite embossing folder, swiss dots for the popped up paper circles on the tree.  I colored the rest of the tree and the grass with Copic markers.  I created the sky by sponging blue inks over top of a punched scallop circle.  The tree and sentiment are from the OCL set, Tweet Trees.

Thanks for stopping by!  I will have another post later today!

Got Snow?

Hello! Here are a couple of "snowy" cards I made this week.  The first card uses stamps from MFT.  They are OLD, OLD, OLD and I don't think they even sell that set anymore, but I love the little penguins.
The second card uses stamps from Unity's December 2010 KOTM.  Love that snowman!

Got snow?  We have snow, with more on the way this weekend. I don't think we are supposed to get a lot this go around.  I LOVE snow. I love walking in it, driving in it, and watching it fall from my comfy couch out the window! It makes me feel peaceful and at ease. When it snows, it seems like everything and everyone slows down a bit.  That is definitely not all bad, in today's fast paced, high energy society.

What are your thoughts on snow? Like or not like?  Love or loathe?  Let me know!

Are You Ready For Some Football? Second Post, scroll down for more!

Hello!  I made two cards today with some new stamps from Our Craft Lounge.  I really am in love with this football set.  We LOVE football at my house, so this set, Football All Star had to be added to my collection, right?  The first card I made for the OCL Challenge #47.  The challenge was to use black, kraft and red on our card.  I really like the way both of these cards turned out.  I used We R Memory Keepers MVP designer paper for both cards.  I am thinking I will replicate the first one as our Super Bowl Party invites this year.  FUN STUFF!

The Rain Rope...

Hello! Today I am hostessing the Scrapbook Inspiration Challenge over on SCS.  My challenge is to incorporate 3 different circles onto your layout.  These photos are of Luke at Disney when we went in the summer of 2009.  The pool at our hotel had a rope, that when pulled, would sprinkle water out of a big daisy.  He affectionately called it "The Rain Rope".
I used a stamp from Scrollworks Stamps and then colored in some of the outlines with Copic markers to use as journaling spots.  The circle border at the bottom is from Martha Stewart and I also die-cut some of the photos into circle shapes.
Come over to the SIC forum and give this challenge a try! I am really excited to be getting some scrapping done!

Happy Anniversary!

Today is my 12th anniversary!  We were able to get a babysitter on Friday night, and went to The Melting Pot.  We used to go there a lot BEFORE kids, so it was fun to eat and share a bottle of wine like we used to!  The best part of my anniversary this year is that my hubby had a neighbor make me a scrapbook full of photos of us through the years.  I thought that was the sweetest most thoughtful thing in the world!

Love that man of mine!

Butterfly Kisses....

Hello!  Here is another card using that new fab set from The Stamps Of Life, butterfly2build.  If you are a club member, then you have probably seen the "peeks" of the other releases this month that "go with" this set! Total cuteness!  If you aren't a club member, the reveal will be on the 11th!
I used some K&Company Poppy Seed DP for this card along with a matching die-cut border.  I used some orchid opulence ink to stamp the wings.

Rest a minute...

Hello!  I made this card today with some dollar bin finds from Michael's!  I love the quirkiness of this card.  I am not sure who I would send it to...maybe a friend who has been under a lot of stress?
This is for the What To Use challenge over on SCS.  We were to use twine on our card.

I LOVE all of the varieties of twine that are available on the market. Jute, burlap, baker's and hemp are my favorite!s and around the chair image.  I tied some black May Arts burlap string around the top.  The DP is from Basic Grey's Curio collection.
I used one of my favorite "GO TO" CAS layouts for this card.  Quick and easy peasy!

BIG SALES at Paper Maniac!

Accessories:  winter white seam binding, May Arts brown burlap string, SRM sticker, vintage button

Hello! This week the theme at Paper Maniac is "winter"!  Echo park's Wintertime collection seemed the perfect fit!  No stamps on this card-just paper from the collection and a journal box.  I applied an SRM sticker for my sentiment.  I made a seam binding bow with some brown burlap string mixed in and topped it off with a vintage button.

Make sure you check out all of the fab sales going on in the store!  You will definitely want to check out the Deal Of The Week section!  I know I couldn't resist some fabulous papers and placed an order!

`Tis The Season To get those pages done....

Hello! Today I have a scrapbook layout using some echo park Merry Christmas DP and die cuts.  I made this for the scrapbook inspiration challenge over on SCS.  I happen to be the co-host of this challenge and will be posting a new challenge on Monday.  Come and check it out sometime.  I know that I have been delving into scrapping again.  It is one of those things that looms over me.  I have huge feelings of guilt about how unorganized I am when it comes to scrapping, but this year I have a plan!

I think one of my biggest problems is that I think way to hard about my layouts.  I can whip out a card in no time flat, but for some reason I can not do that with a scrapbook page.  For this page I kept the layout simple, and it always helps to stick to one collection (like echo park) that has lots of different coordinating supplies.

While my blog will continue to focus on card making, I hope you don't mind if I throw some of my scrapbook pages in the mix!

Hello! Today I have a card made with some stamps from the ippity set, What YOU Doin'?
