Hugs To You!

Hello! Today I have a card using The Stamps Of Life Stamps.  The background uses the pattern2love set. I stamped it once in Donna Salazar's Schoolhouse Mixed Media ink, and then stamped it again onto my panel for the lighter, pinkish color.  The leaf is from the friends4ever set. I stamped it in Certainly Celery ink and then cut it out.  The sentiment is from the sympathy4you set and stamped in Stephanie's Licorice ink. I used Antique Linen distress ink on all of my card edges and tied some ivory burlap string from May Arts at the top.
It is cold, and overcast here in SW Ohio today! BLECH. Good day to finish some of my redecorating and painting upstairs.  When I get my bedroom just the way I want it, I will post photos here on my blog. I used to be able to redecorate a room so quickly, but with three boys running around my time is limited. I am going to attempt to spray paint some old picture frames, so keep your fingers crossed that it turns out great!

Plant Kindness...

Plant kindness, grow love...words to live by, right? I used The Stamps Of Life set, moremums2love for this card.  I went with a more modern/contemporary look on this one.  I used Stephanie's ink in Licorice and Guava.  I matted the horizontal and vertical panels in black and added some bling to my mum centers.  I really like this layout and plan to revisit it again.

No big plans this weekend other than baseball.  I really dislike baseball. I have tried and tried to like it, but I still think it is quite possibly the most boring sport on the face of the earth.  I feel like I am lulled into a trance, and then when something exciting happens-I miss it.  Of course, I put on my happy face for my oldest, but sometimes I think he doesn't like it very much either. LOL!  He plays three sports right now, and I think as he gets older, baseball will be the one he drops.  I will say there is nothing cuter than little boys in baseball uniforms and hats! Makes me smile. :)
I think we may be on the "you know what" list with the coach.  They were supposed to have a game that started at 6:30 last night that was about 40 minutes away.  My son started his Ohio Achievement test today, and I felt like that was way too late to be out on a school night, especially with OAA's the next day, so we kept Will home.  By the time we would have gotten home, and he showered it would have been 10:30!  I think school ALWAYS comes before extracurricular activities.  I know a lot of the other mom's were upset about the game being scheduled at that time before the tests, but I think I am the only one who put my foot down.  I hope my guy doesn't pay the price for it.  Okay...enough griping about baseball!  I just had to get that off my chest. :)

Exciting News!!!!

Hello! I have some exciting news to share...I am a new member of the Hearfelt Creations design team!  I am super excited and happy to start my six month term with Heartfelt Creations.  I first met some of the HC ladies a couple years ago at CKC in Cincinnati.  I loved that they had stamps and dies that coordinated together, and they were super nice!
I am sharing my two semi-finalist projects that I submitted with the two stamp sets and die set that they sent to me.  Their stamps are red rubber, and stamp like a dream.  All of their dies are made exclusively for them by Spellbinders, so you know those are top quality, too!
I will be able to share more projects with you soon when the May release is out!!!

Thanks for stopping by!

Pennants for Baby Girl....

Hello! Today I have a card using the Pennant Party set and matching dies from Sweet N Sassy stamps.  I used SU inks in Certainly Celery and Pink Pirouette.  I stamped the background with the heart and circle image from this set.  The pennants were die cut and then stamped in the same inks.  I sewed some buttons from my stash to the pennants and added some baker's twine from The Twinery to the top.  The eyelet border is a SU punch.  I inked all of the edges of my paper with Antique Linen distress inks by Ranger.  The sentiment is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Hoot Hoot Hooray!

Hello! I have super exciting news...my niece has arrived! My sister went in to be induced Monday morning, and just had sweet Cora this afternoon! It was a long labor, but we are so glad that she is here, safe and sound and that everyone is healthy.
I figured that my sis would appreciate a bottle of Merlot in the days to come.  This is one of my favorite (very cheap) bottles, and I love the little owl on the bottle. I decided to go with that owl theme, and used a set from The Stamps Of Life called owls2love.
I used the large scallop border from Sweet N Sassy stamps for the border.  I used inks in Chocolate and Guava by Stephanie Barnard for Clear Snap for my owls and wine tag.  The wine tag was created with a 1 3/4 inch punch. I scored a line just below the circle and then stamped my image and sentiment on the part that "hangs".
My sister is not a big pink person, so I thought this was a nice mix of browns and a more muted pink.  I am anxious to check on my sis and meet my new niece.  Now that she has arrived, I hope to get back to some more regular blogging.  I have been worried about my sister, because she has some medical problems that could have become problematic at the end of this pregnancy.  So happy everything turned out great (minus the 2 days of induction)!

Thanks for stopping by,

Go Fish Challenge #15- Anything Goes!!!

Hello! It is time for another Go Fish challenge. This week's challenge is easy peasy...anything goes!
My card above uses papers from Crate Paper's Farmhouse collection.  The stems and sentiment are from The Stamps of life sets mums2stamp and moremums2love.  I made tiny little rosettes out of patterned paper to create my flowers.

Hope you get a chance to join the challenge!

The Stamps Of Life: Frilly4abc

Hello!  I have been missing on my blog due to a mini vacation to The Smokey Mountains in Gatlinburg, TN.  We rented a chalet with my sis and BIL and their two girls.  We drove through some treacherous rain and saw some horrible wrecks, but once we made it, the weather was GORGEOUS!

Today I wanted to share some cards I made with a newly released set called frilly4abc by The Stamps Of Life. I love alphabet sets and how versatile they are. They are great for titles in scrapbooks and also for sentiments on cards. The above card the stamping is short and sweet. A simple "HI" stamped in Licorice ink by Stephanie Barnard onto a Fancy Label Die available at TSOL. I love all of the fun Sizzix dies that Stephanie has come out with.  I sponged Antique Linen distress ink around the edge.  The green floral paper is from Cosmo Cricket.  The mandarin baker's twine is from The Twinery and the little yellow rose is Prima.  The text is from an old book of children's stories that Max and Luke have been rough on! A lot of pages are torn so I am using it as my "go to" for text paper.  I don't have to worry about any inappropriate words or verses! LOL!

On this card, I used part of a sentiment (thinking of) from the tinytitles2stamp and the "YOU" is from the frilly4abc sets.  I used some lace looking paper from Sasafrass Lass for the background. The baker's twine is from The Twinery. Antique Linen distress ink was sponged around all of the edges of the white cardstock.

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter! I hope you have a wonderful day with family and friends. I made this card with a free digi image from THIS site. The sentiment is from The Stamps Of Life set, Easter4Him.  I colored the image with chalks and a blender pen (SU). The twine is from The Twinery.  The DP is from My Mind's Eye Lost & Found collection. The green is Sage Shadow (retired SU).

Birthday Boy Banner....

Hello! Here is yet ANOTHER birthday card themed for a boy.  I used my new Pennant Party set from Sweet N Sassy stamps.  I stamped the pennants in baja breeze (SU) and Fired Brick distress ink. I used the matching die and then inked the edges with Antique Linen distress ink.  I punched some holes in the pennants and strung them on some brown baker's twine from The Twinery.
Simple and sweet!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Happy Birthday...

See...I told you I would be sharing LOTS of birthday cards this month! I used the new release from The Stamps Of Life for this card called birthday2celebrate.  I paired it with some My Mind's Eye DP.  This set is great, because you can paper piece the present, or there are a couple of different patterns that you can stamp for different "wrappings".  It also has several different bow toppers to choose from.  Definitely a must have birthday set!

Bonjour...

Bonjour! I am super happy with the way this card turned out. I made this for the CAS challenge on SCS-to use the spotlight technique. It is definitely something I have not done in several years, so it was fun and quite simple. I stamped the image from one of my new Sweet & Sassy sets called, From Paris With Love.  First, I stamped the image on white cardstock and adhered to my pink pirouette base.  I then stamped the image onto a scrap of pink pirouette cardstock and used a circle punch to cut only the part of the image with "Paris". I then line it up and adhered it over the image on the white cardstock. Easy Peasy, huh?

I think I will send this card to my old co-worker and friend who is a collector of vintage, Paris themed things in pink and black! This will be perfect for her.

Thanks for stopping by!
