Some Baby Boy cards...

Hi, there! Today I have a couple of cards using The Stamps Of Life stamps. My first card uses the duck from onesie4baby and the sentiment was created using miniabc2stamp.  I created my waves using the negative from a scrap after using a scallop die. The woodgrain paper is from My Mind's Eye and the baker's twine is The Twinery.
This next card uses the set onesie4baby. I am in LOVE with that onesie stamp! I could make different onesies all day long. I stamped this onesie onto soft sky cardstock, and then went back and added some shading with a copic marker.  The bear is stamped in Stephanie's chocolate ink.  I sponged distress ink (antique linen) over the edges of all of the paper. I used some silver smooch for the snaps, but I just realized that one of the snaps kind of ran a bit. Dang!  The baker's twine is from The Twinery. I used my old Swiss Dots CB folder for the background. I do not know of anyone expecting any baby boys, but I will be ready with some cards when the time arrives!

Long Distance Hugs!

Hello! I hope you all have had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend.  We got back from camping today and had a great time.  We actually camped in my parent's yard!!! We waited to long to try to get a spot on the holiday weekend, so my parent's property is beautiful, and I asked if we could set up camp there. It was such a fun weekend and nice to share our camping experience with my mom and dad.  At one point, the boys were in their house watching a movie, and Luke looked up at me and said, "I just love camping, mommy!"  I cracked up! Watching a movie in a recliner is not exactly "camping", but he was happy!

I made this card a while back and forgot to post it. I used some Sweet N Sassy stamps for this one.  I stamped the background in Antique Linen distress ink. I then stamped the postage mark in black and the heart in red. i tied some baker's twine around the bottom and added a heart stick pin.

This fits the Moxie Fab Postage Challenge along with this week's CAS challenge on SCS.

Happy Summer!

Hi, there! Today I have a couple more cards using pops2eat and patterns4pops from The Stamps Of Life. I just can not get enough of these popsicles! I paired the pop of with some paper from echo park's Summer Days collection, and added some baker's twine from The Twinery. I used a real popsicle stick and added some chunky glitter to the top of my pop.  The embossing folder in the white circle is also one of Stephanie's new embossing folders by Sizzix only available through The Stamps Of Life. It matches some of her other sets, but I thought it was fun with this set, too!

Below is another fun pop card to share with you:
I sent this card to a gal who was having a birthday.  My papers are from My Mind's Eye collection. The frame is from hearts2love collection by TSOL.  The dotted ribbon is Offray (i think). I used a copic marker to color in parts of the frame. I again added some glitter to the top of this pop to make it look icy!

I hope you all have a fun, safe weekend!

Twisted Tuesday Challenge: Vacation!

Hello! I am excited to share that I am guest designing this week for the Twisted Tuesday Challenge!  This week's challenge is to make a card using the word vacation as inspiration. The twist-keep it simple! I love a good CAS card, so this was perfect for me.
As some of you know, we bought a camper last year, so I decided to pull out this Unity oldie but goodie stamp for my card.  I used text from an old book in the background, and copics to color my image.  I sponged Antique Linen distress ink over all of my paper edges, and added a loopy baker's twine bow and heart button.
I thought about making a couple more of these cards and creating "travel" goodie bags for my boys to take with them on our first trip of the year.  Our trips are usually just weekend trips. I can not imagine going on a trip for longer than that, but maybe we will try it someday! :)

I hope you get a chance to join the Twisted Tuesday Challenge!

FWF-The Man

Happy Friday!  Today I have a card I made with the ippity set, The Man.  I bought this a while back from the fabulous Noelle,(Noelle offers free shipping, 25 yards of free baker's twine, and discounted prices!) and it has been sitting in a drawer until now. I thought it would make the perfect Father's Day card for my hubby.  He usually wears a suit and tie to work, so this is so him. I will tell ya, that he would probably NEVER wear an orange tie, but it looked cute, so I went with it. :)
I pieced the tie with some Making Memories DP. The shirt is bashful blue from SU. I took a copic marker and added some highlights.  The words are stamped in Night Of Navy in the background. I was soooooooo tempted to add some baker's twine to the top or bottom, but my oldest son told me NO. "No bows for dad! Come on, mom!" to quote him exactly.  Well okay then...no baker's twine bow for dad.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

More Pops!

I have some more cards to share using the pops2eat and patterns4pops sets from The Stamps Of Life.  This is the perfect set for summer!  I have had fun making so many cards with these sets, so get ready for even more pop cards!  On the card above, I used the dimensional looking stamp.  I love that it creates a look with depth, without coloring. Quick and easy!
On the card above, I decided to make a creamsicle.  I added some chunky glitter to the top, to give it an icy effect.  I used one of Stephanie's new embossing folders for the background.  The popsicle stick is from my craft supplies, but you can also just stamp them like on my first card.

The first card is perfect for Yes, Virginia...I'm Inspired challenge!

A little bit of Christmas...

How about a little bit of Christmas in May? I must admit, I NEVER do holiday cards this early, but it feels nice to add one to my box in May! I created this card for two challenges. The first was this week's color challenge on SCS-Pacific Point, Certainly Celery, and Kraft. The dessert option was to make a holiday card, which I did!! The stamps are from CTMH Winter Joy set.  I stamped my sentiment on a white tag, and added some little snowflakes and gems.  The twine is from The Twinery and the gingham paper is October Afternoon. I just stamped the larger snowflakes right onto the gingham paper.

Gingham-that brings me to the second challenge! I am entering this in the Moxie Fab Gingham Challenge.  There are so many fun challenges going on at Moxie Fab right now, so go check them out for some inspiration!

You deserve a treat!

Hi, there! Today I would like to share a sweet little card with you using the new set, pops2eat by The Stamps Of Life.  I kept this card very simple. I stamped the sentiment and outline of the pops with Licorice ink. The actual pop is stamped in Strawberry ink. Both of these inks are by Stephanie for Clearsnap.  They are super juicy and give you a brilliant, rich color. The pop sticks are stamped in antique linen distress ink. It was the perfect color for those sticks. I added some baker's twine from The Twinery at the top.  I simply scored a line down the middle of my pops, to show how they can break apart.

Warm weather is upon us, and I always make sure to have LOTS of popsicles on hand for my boys and all of the neighbor kids.  They are cheap, easy and make the kids oh, so happy! :)

Go Fish Challenge #16-Shaped cards!

Hello! It is time for another Go Fish challenge. For this challenge, we ask that you make a shaped card (anything but a rectangle or a square) for Mother's Day.  For my card, I used Spellbinder's dies to create my card base.  I also used Heartfelt Creations Perfect Petals and Posy Patch dies to create my leaves and flower.  I stamped the leaves with Heartfelt Creations matching Perfect Petals Medley stamp set.  The white circle is embossed with a Sizzix folder made exclusively for The Stamps Of Life. I also added some mandarin baker's twine from The Twinery.

Hope you find some time to play along in the challenge!
