Hello, My Friend

I just love this little stick figure gal from The Stamps Of Life set, Katie2love! I pieced her dress and the balloons.  I also used the balloon dies from TSOL and matching balloon stamp set.  I drew the balloon strings.
Getting ready to redecorate my house!  We got new furniture for our great room.  Still waiting on the loveseat to arrive next Tuesday, but then I will take some photographs.  I see painting in my future for the weekend!  Next...the kitchen.  I am still gathering ideas for a kitchen remodel, but can not wait. My boys have beat our  current kitchen floor to death!
I also am going to move my craft studio from the basement to what is currently our formal living room.  Even though our basement is finished, I do not like being down there! I want windows!  All of the furniture in the formal living room is being donated or repurposed.  I can not wait to start looking for shelving and a cool table.  I will post some updates on the blog as it happens!

Heartfelt Creations: Swans and Butterflies...

Hello! Today I have two cards to share using stamps and dies from Heartfelt Creations.  I watercolored the swan image and kept the design simple.  I love swans and they remind me of my childhood vacations in Northern Michigan!
I just love the beautiful butterfly image in the card above.  I wanted to go for a vintage look, so I stamped it in Walnut Stain ink and did some distressing.  I love using lined image on projects without coloring them in.  It gives you a whole different look!

Bubbles, bubbles, bubbles....

Hello! I have three fun bubble cards to share with you today using new sets from The Stamps Of Life!  The first one uses the set bubblegum4me.  I stamped the bubbles in Sky and Blueberry (Stephanie's inks for Clearsnap).  I then used the coordinating spray in sky to spray on my card.  The sentiment is stamped in Licorice ink.  I added some ribbon banners and burlap twine at the top.

I just love how this second card turned out!  I had to search high and low for a bubble wand in the middle of winter, but finally found one floating around on a garage shelf.  I know I will be making lots of party favors for upcoming birthdays with this set and bubbles!
This last card uses a sentiment from moregum4me and the gum4backgrounds set.  I went with a circle shape card and stamped some of the bubbles in the polka dot pattern.  I also covered the patterned bubbles with glossy accents to give them some shine.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Heartfelt Creations: Sweet Serenity Debut!

Hello! Today I have some cards using the new stamps and paper from Heartfelt Creations Sweet Serenity collection.  I love the little blue bird.  My bluebirds are out in full force right now, fighting with the sparrows over the rights to my bird houses! I colored my image using Gelatos and a Fantastix blending tool dipped in water.
For the card above, I wanted to make the covered bridge image look like an old pencil sketch that my mom had framed at the house I grew up in.  I loved how old it looked and that paper was stained and discolored around the edges.

For more inspiration from the design team, and for complete instructions on recreating both of these cards, please visit the Heartfelt Creations blog.  Leave a comment on the HC blog for a chance to win the entire new collection of stamps, paper and die!

Project Life: Week 8

Hi, there! Today I wanted to share some more of my Project Life album.  Week 8 included a trip to a local hibachi grill before my hubby went out of town on a snowmobile trip up north, with my dad and BIL.  I included a screen shot of the weather close to where they were, and my hubs was super great about getting some good photos on his trip.  While he was gone, I had all of the boys conferences, basketball tournaments, and a trip to see my sister's show choir perform.
I finally got my oldest to pose for some photos! HOORAY!
For conference night, I took a photo of one of the teacher's desk area. I also added a photo of Luke's artwork that was hanging in the hall.  He was super excited to learn about different presidents this year.  I got a snap shot of my sis with her girls and my boys after the show.   My guys were very impressed with their aunt's hard work and amazed at what she and her students put into the show.

I am linking this over at Project Life Tuesday with The Mom Creative!

Heartfelt Creations: To A Beautiful You...

Hello!  Today I have a Heartfelt Creations project to share with you.  I just love the vintage images in the Sunny Days collection.  The worn and weathered patterned papers go beautifully with the images in this collection.  I did some paper pleating under the twine at the top.  You can find the product list and instructions on recreating this card below.

HCPC 3516-Antique Essentials PreCut Set
HCPC 3509-Timeless Sentiments PreCut Set
HCDP1 230 Sunny Day Paper Collection
other supplies: charcoal cardstock, white cardstock, Memento Tuxedo Black ink, Ranger distress inks in Walnut Stain and Old Paper, grey baker's twine, half pearl, vintage button
Fold charcoal base so that it measures 4.25" x 5.5" when folded.  Cut a 4" x 5.25" piece of Sunny Days patterned paper.  Stamp vintage water pump in lower left corner in black ink.  Ink edges of panel with distress inks and distress edges of paper with scissors or fingernail.  Stamp sentiment onto white cardstock and cut out individual words.  Ink edges with distress ink and adhere to lower right corner next to water pump image.  Adhere panel to center of card base.  Cut a strip of Sunny Days patterned paper that measures 12" x 1.5".  Crumple the paper up and accordian fold.  You do not want it to look perfect, but old and shabby.  I sponged distress inks on the strip after I pleated it.  Adhere to top of card and trim any extra on each side.  Tie Baker's twine into a loopy bow around the pleated paper and add a button and pearl to the center.

TSOL: You Blow Me Away!

Hello! Today I want to share a card using the newly released bubblegum4me from The Stamps Of Life.  I LOVE gum, so this may be one of my favorite sets to date! Love the sentiments, too!  I used one of Stephanie's circle Flip-it dies from Sizzix to create this card.  Flip-it cards are so much fun.  I used to try to make a similiar version many moons ago using a kraft knife.  One pass through my Big Kick and voila'! Done!  You can order these through Stephanie's site and get a great discount if you are a club member.  They are also available at Hobby Lobby! I saw them there last night. :)
The first photo shows the front or closed version of the Flip-it card.  I used some glossy accents on my bubblegum balls and colored the machine with copic markers.  The patterned paper is from My Mind's Eye.
This shows the card when open.  I stamped the 5 cents in Antique Linen distress ink to create the background.  The sentiment was stamped on a punched circle of matching patterned paper.  I plan on giving this to my little sis.  She is performing in a local production of Seusical The Musical soon.  I thought this would be great to give to her with a bag of gum goodies before the show.  She could share some of her loot with the rest of the cast and her girls after the show!
