Just a quick shout out to my peeps!

Hello! Just wanted to let everyone know that I am taking a little vacation up north, so I won't be posting as frequently this coming week! If I am able to get internet access where we are going (which is doubtful) I will check in! I have a few posts scheduled while I am gone, so hopefully blogger will cooperate!

Have a wonderful Fourth of July holiday!

Glitter on the front porch...Glitter on the highway....

This is for the CAS21. We were to add sparkle to our card. My base is kraft and I cut a piece of BG's Sultry paper for the front. I added crystal effects and glitter to parts of the green flowers. Stamped directly onto the DP with the frame and sentiment from Great Friend by SU. The ribbon came with a purse that you can change out the ribbons that tie around it. I NEVER wear hot pink so it was perfect for ribbon stash!

I hope you all have a great day!

RIP Michael and a challenge for you

I had to do another post today. This card is obviously a tribute to MJ. What a super talented guy he was! I know that his behavior as an adult was any thing less than strange and bizarre, but I LOVE his music. If you played Thriller right now, I could sing every word AND do the dance...yes...the entire dance! I owned black leather pants as a child and an orange pleather jacket. I also spent many hours on the playground having moonwalk contests. He contributed so much to the music industry.
Sometimes I wonder if he struggled as an adult, because he was never allowed to be a child. I hope that he is at peace now and that all of his demons have been put to rest.

So here is another thought...I am throwing out a Michael Jackson challenge to you all. Make a card or a project inspired by The King of Pop. Link it here and use keyword RIPMJ when uploading to on line galleries.

Can't wait to see what you come up with.

I hear ice cream is good for a Hip Hop Hangover!

Back in my college days, I had a friend who swore that if you ate a big bowl of ice cream when you got home from the bars, you would NOT have a hangover in the morning! LOL! I never tried it. The thought of ice cream and beer just wasn't for me!

The images are from Unity's June KOTM. I used some certainly celery twill ribbon at the top. I used my nesties and SU oval punches. I colored the image with my prisma's and blended with OMS. I added some crystal effects and glitter on my ice cream cone. This was for Jeanne's pink and green Hip Hop challenge. I love those colors together! I won a free stamp set for my card for this challenge! YAY! This is why everyone should participate in HIP HOP! Unity is so generous with their give aways!

Hope you have a fabulous Friday!

A Digi Shack Sketch Challenge and DT call!

Here is this week's sketch challenge over at The Digi Shack. I used one of the new Lani images. I hope I don't offend any airforce folks because I matched her uniform to my DP. I think the DP is from Cosmo Cricket. It came in a kit I bought from Taylored Expressions, so I am unsure. I colored her with copics and used a sizzix button die for the buttons. The thank you sentiment is from Unity.

Don't forget about the design team call for The Digi Shack! We are looking for a spotlight guest designer for July and 5-6 design team positions. Check out all of the details HERE.

Have a great day and remember to add TDSC11 as your keyword when uploading to galleries. Also link your card on TDS website!

MSB ceLebRate gal!

Sorry no cards for awhile! My hubby lost his job, so I have not been in a very creative mood. I need to get out of this funk, though! I think we are going to take the twins to the outdoor waterpark at the YMCA by our house. Will is at basketball camp this week, so he really is clueless to what is going on. The good news is that I am a nurse, so plenty of hours available for me to work at the hospital. Keep us in your prayers that hubby finds a new job soon! Now...on to the card!

The gal is from MSB (Modern Sugar Blvd.). I thought she was super cute. I paper pieced her shirt with DSP from SU's retired Jersey shore collection. The white card base is paper pierced around the edge and so is the orange DSP square. I colored her with prisma pencils and blended wit OMS. The sentiment is from Unity and I colored the individual letters with my SU markers.

Hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday!

Hello! This week's Etsy shop for your inspiration is the Potato patch! They make adorable clothes for baby and kids. All of the images stamped on their shirts and clothing are stamps made from...you guessed it...potatos! I was inspired to make my card after seeing this adorable baby onesie. I colored my chick with prisma pencils and blended with OMS. The image is from Unity's Everyday Adorable kit.

If you have never ordered any Unity, now is the time. If you are a first time buyer, just mention that you are a first time buyer in the comment section of your order and then mention that I refered you. We will both get a 40% off coupon to use on our next orders! How sweet is that deal?

A spot of tea, for your Hip Hop Hangover!

Hello! Happy Hip Hop Hangover! I made this card for the WT223, to use text on our card, and I also tried Jen Del Muro's pizza box tutorial on SCS. These little boxes are so quick and easy to make! You should try one!
I used stamps from Unity's June KOTM. The box is kraft and the DP is Chloe's Closet by MM. I used a nestie in ballet blue to mat my image. The image is stamped in memento tuxedo black and colored with prisma pencils and blended with OMS. The corkboard flower is from Chloe's closet line, too.
Thanks for stopping by, today! Hope you all are well! I have a hot date with my hubby tonight! I am trying to decide where to go for dinner...hmmm....Japanese steak house or seafood?
