Flowers for Mom-TDS03

Hello! This is a card I made for The Digi Shack Thursday challenge. This week's challenge is a sketch. I love the clean lines of this sketch. The image I used is a newer one from TDS. Isn't it pretty? I colored it with copics and prisma pencils. The colors are ridinghood red and chocolate chip. I love the look of these rich colors against the white base. I added some bling in the corners and the sentiment is from PTI's Mixed Messages set (a must have sentiment set, IMO!).
Let me see what you do with this sketch. Make sure you use the keyword TDSC03 in your keyword section when uploading to online galleries! Check the other DT members blogs in my side bar for their take on the sketch!

Thanks for stopping by!

Sweet Baby

I made this for the CAS12 challenge on SCS. We were to use tiny bits of ribbon on our card. I love to create tabs with left over ribbon. I am a "saver", so I don't get rid of anything. I also like to make ribbon corners with tiny scraps of ribbon. I think it adds alot to a card. It's quick and easy, and doesn't use a lot of ribbon.
My card base is white and then the pink pirouette panel is CB'd with swiss dots. My image is from Hero Arts. I used prisma pencils to color it in. My sentiment is from PTI's Mixed Messages set. I used the word window punch to punch it out. I distressed the edges and added some faux stitching to the so saffron mat.

My sister is due any day now, so this card will go to her when baby Sara is born!

Have a Marvelous Monday!

Butterflies, Birds and a HHH!

Hi everyone! Happy Hip Hop Hangover! I made the card above for the Unity Color the Earth challenge. We were to use green, blue and any neutrals or shades of brown. All of the stamps are from April's KOTM. I really love how the swirly branch stamp goes with the bird on a branch!
This card was for three challenges! YIKES! The first was the Unity Anytime birthday card challenge. We could not use an obvious birthday image or sentiment. For SCS's What to use challenge we were to use all white paper and white embellishments! And last but not least, I submitted this for The Flutterby Challenge.
All stamps are from Unity's April KOTM! I am sooooo loving my KOTM's! So versatile and a TON of stamps for the price!

On Sunday I will have some more FREE digi downloads for you from The Digi Shack! Scroll down a couple of posts for the first set of free images!

Honey Bear

Hello! I made this card with an image given to me by Nancy! This image is from High Hopes! Thanks so much Nancy!
I made this card for Ashley's Etsy inspired 32 challenge found HERE. I was inspired by this necklace HERE.
I colored the image with copics and prisma pencils. I sponged the sky with soft sky and baja breeze ink. The DP is SU's DSP and I matted the image with black. I added crystal effects to the wings and the honey on top of the jar, but my lighting stinks since it has been so rainy and overcast this week!
Thanks for looking! I will be back tomorrow with some Unity for Hip Hop Hangover!

Yo-ho-ho!

Yo-ho-ho and a bottle of rum! I made this card today for the sketch challenge over on SCS. You can find the sketch HERE. I love the blocked panels in this sketch. I used DP from K&Co.'s Daydream collection. I cut out the part of the paper with the waves, since it went perfectly with my little pirate mouse image. This is another image given to me from Michelle (MishB). The mouse pirate image is from Art Gone Wild and the sentiment is from 3rd Coast. I colored the image with prisma pencils and blended with OMS. I sponged the edges of the image and sentiment banner with brown ink. I added some antique pewter brads to the corners of the image and some hemp twine at the top.
Remember to scroll down one post if you want some free digi images from The Digi Shack! They will only be available until the end of the month!

Sweet Treats-FREE Digi Downloads!

edited: The free digi link has been deleted. The images were only available in the month of April.

Hello! I have a super sweet treat for you guys! The Digi Shack DT gals, have a FREE digi download for you! This will only be available until the end of the month! Click HERE for your free download! You will get the image and sentiment above, along with another sweet treat! Go check it out!

I also made this for Ashley's Etsy inspired challenge #31 found here. I was inspired by the soft pink and green colors in these soap dishes. I thought the colors would be perfect for this ice cream cone! I colored my image with prisma pencils and blended with OMS. I added stickles to the ice cream. YUM!

This is a great little treat box that is really simple to make. You will need a 4.25" x 11" piece of sturdy cardstock for your base. On the 11" side score at 5" and 6". I puched a tab in the top, and tied it closed with ribbon. You can add candy in a bag, bath salts, individual packets of soup or instant coffee. I use these as hostess gifts at workshops!

I will have another set of FREE images for you this week, too! Check back, for more FREE images from The Digi Shack! :)

Lady Luck

Today's CAS challenge was to draw inspiration from kids bedding at JC Penny's. I chose this lady bug bedding. ADORABLE! I used a large oval punch for the body of my lady bug. I cut the red oval in half and drew in black dots and the antenae. I used a 3/4 circle punch for her hed. The sentiment is from Unity's March KOTM.
Did you know that lady bug's are a symbol of good luck? Yep...they are! There is your trivia fact for the day!
Thanks for stopping by! Stop by tomorrow! I will have a free download from The Digi Shack for you! It is super SWEET!

Rest, Relaxation, Retire!

I made this card for the featured stamper challenge over at SCS. This fun image is from my SCS bud, Michelle (aka Mishb). She sent me a bunch of pirate images after my son fell in love with one of her pirate cards! Thanks Michelle! I thought this image was perfect for a retirement card! The image is from 100 Proof Press and the sentiment is PTI's Mixed Messages. I colored the image with Prisma Pencils. The paper is all from my scrap pile!

I will have another card tomorrow for the CAS challenge!

My Big Guy is 8!!!

I can't believe Will is 8! His birthday was Friday. We took him to The Fuji House, a Japanese steak house we love, for his birthday. He had never been, so he had a great time! We have had a busy week with birthday, spring break, baseball games, trips to the museum.... I am hoping to get some stamping time this afternoon when Max and Luke nap.
I also am pretty happy to have my computer back! We had some work done, to make it a little faster, and I was lost without it! Can't wait to go blog hopping to see what I have missed!
Have a great day!

Meet Ellie!

Here is another card I made with a Digi Shack image. Isn't she the cutest? I colored her with copics and added some stickles to her tutu. The DP is SU and the flower brads...I have had for a long time, but I think they are by making memories.

Remember... you have until April 21st to get your free download from The Digi Shack and participate in the sketch challenge. More details in the previous blog post! The random winner will receive 5 free downloads!

I am having my computer worked on and won't get it back until Friday evening! GASP! I will probably go through blogging and SCS withdrawals! LOL! This will give me time to try to clean up the easter grass that keeps finding it's way onto the floors of my house! That stuff breeds, I just know it! I will be back Friday evening!

Unity Flowers CAS

Happy Monday, everyone! I worked all weekend, so it is a very happy Monday for me! Crazy busy at work, so I couldn't wait to get home and check out the CAS challenge for today. For the CAS we were to make a monochromatic card.

I chose black and white. The image is from Unity's March KOTM. I CB'd the white panel with the Stylized flowers embossing folder. I added a black satin ribbon down the middle and the image is mounted on a scalloped rectangle (nestie).

This was a quick and easy card to make. Thanks for stopping by today!

Remember to save some time on Wednesday for The Digi Shack's release party! There will be a sketch challenge with a free upload for the challenge. If your card is picked, you will get 5 free uploads! Fun, fun, fun!

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter, everyone! I made this bunny card several weeks ago, but wanted to save it for the big day! I downloaded this image from Plumpurdy.com, after seeing Mutnik's cute card HERE. I fell in love with this image. I colored it with my prisma pencils and used OMS to blend. My card base is perfect plum, and the swiss dots CB'd strip is green galore. I added some green buttons at the bottom. I wanted to keep the layout simple, since the image was so big.

Thanks for stopping by today, and keep watching! The Digi Shack will be having their release party on Wednesday! There will be a sketch challenge, and you will be provided with a free image to download! All images will be 50% off on Wednesday, too! Hope you can come and play! I will have more details the next couple of days!

Have a wonderful Easter! Don't eat too many jelly beans, or chocolate bunnies, or peeps, or eggs.....!

Fabulous Flowers for HHH!

I made this card for the Unity eco challenge. We were to use nature stamps on our card. The flowers are from gratitude=joy. I used my SU markers to ink my stamps. The sentiment is from Unity's simply said set. The card base is wild wasabi textured and I tied some pretty in pink taffeta ribbon up top.

Clean and simple!

Stay tuned....later I will have a post with some very exciting news! Can't wait to share it with you all!

I {heart} Trees

Hello! I made this card for Ashley's Etsy inspired challenge. It also works for Unity's hip hop challenge, to use a neutral sentiment on your card. If you have never done one of Ashley's Etsy inspired challenges, go check it out! She always has some beautiful, inspiring shops to browse! She also gives away prizes!

I was inspired by this beautiful watercolor by Lauren Alexander. I ust love her stuff! I thought this heart tree by Unity was perfect! It was the first stamp I thought of when I saw this watercolor. I stepped WAAAAY out of my box, because I do not like Pixie Pink. Probably one of my least favorite SU colors (it runs a close second to Glorious Green)!

I stamped my image on watercolor paper and colored the image with my aqua painter and reinkers. I distressed the edges, and cut out a heart. The sentiment in the heart is from Unity's March KOTM. I drew the little pink swirly things in the background and added stickles (which don't show up in the photo).

Thanks for stopping by and make sure to go check out Unity's hip hop today! I am sure Angela will have some great deals!

Cafe' Window

OH....what a morning it has been! Max had some testing done this morning and then off to find prizes and snacks for Will's school Easter party! Max and Luke were not very well behaved in Target, to put it mildly! I am sure everyone at Target was very glad to see us go! I wish I was sitting at that little table in the cafe' window, drinking a latte'...in silence! I will have to settle for a cup of joe at my kitchen table, while watching Sid The Science Kid! LOL!

I made this for the color challenge on SCS yesterday. Close to Cocoa, So Saffron and Bashful Blue. Love it! I had been wanting to paper piece that little cafe' window from Unity's March KOTM. I used the Delicate Dots DSP from SU's SAB catty. I added some rhinestones to the fringe and at the bottom. The sentiment is from Unity's Simply Said kit. The ribbon is So Saffron by SU and the brown is by May Arts.

I have had some people ask me how I tie my ribbons so the good part is in the front. I will have to try to think of how to do a tutorial on that. Hmmmm....might have to get hubby's help!

I hope you all have a wonderful day! No more snow here. It's beautiful and sunny, but only 45 degrees! I will take it over snow any day! LOL!

Simple & Sweet!

I know...another project with Friendly Forest DP! I am so in love with the stuff! This card was so super easy to make. The card base is chocolate chip and is 4.25" x 4.25". The DP is actually from a little mat stack that matches this line of paper. All of the sheets in the mat stack have a little critter in the lower corner. I just cut my paper 4" x 4" so that the squirell was in the lower corner, and then stamped the sentiment on some very vanilla. I distressed the edges of the paper and added some faux stitching.

Super quick and easy to make! The ribbon I used is by May Arts. I hope you all have a wonderful day! We have snow flurries right now! AAAHHHHH! I need spring to REALLY be here. No more 70 degree day "teasers"!

Lollipop Flower/Paper Posie tutorial

I made this card for the TLC215 found HERE. I just adore this little flower pot card!
I made this card for this week's CAS09 over on SCS. We were to use distressing on our card. I love to distress, and thought a lollipop flower as the focal point of a card would make the perfect CAS card with distressing.

Lolipop flowers are so easy to make so I have attempted a quick little tutorial to show you. All you need is some scraps of DP, a distressing tool or scissors, and a water spritzer! Here it goes!

Start out by cutting out square shapes from you DP. Think of how you want the colors to layer. The bottom layer will be your largest square, and then work your way up. You can do as many as you want. I am just going to show you three here. They do not have to be perfect squares, in fact, you don't really want them to look perfect! That's what makes them distressed and vintage looking!

Next you are just going to cut around the square. Notice that these are by no means perfect circles. Not to worry...they will still nest nicely when you are done!

Now you are gong to take your distressing tool or scissors, and go around the edge of your circles. If you tear them a bit, no worries! The rougher the edge, the better in my opinion!

Next you will lightly mist them with water. While your circles are damp you can scrunch them, bend up the ends, or whatever you want. They dry fairly quickly, but if you are impatient like me, you can use your heating tool to dry them faster!

Now you can stack them up and either add a brad in the middle or a button! Voila! Your very own paper posie!

Hope this is helpful! Let me know if you have any questions!

Lily & Milo

I made this card for the sketch challenge on SCS this past week, but I forgot to post it on my blog! I bought this stamp a while back, but have never inked it up until now! I stamped the image on watercolor paper and used my reinkers, SU markers, and an aqua painter to color. The paper is Delicate Dots from the Sale-a-bration catty. The ribbon is So Saffron (also from SAB catty). I matted the image on So Saffron paper. Added a stick pin with ribbon and a prima with a dew drop center!

Hope you all had a great weekend!

Babies, Leaves and a Hip Hop Hangover!

Hello! I made these cards for the Unity challenges for Hip Hop yesterday. We had to make a baby card. I thought this chick and this sentiment from the March KOTM were perfect! I distressed all of the edges with a distressing tool and sponged some brown ink on the edges and even on my ribbon. I used some SU markers to add faux stitching around the borders. I was going for a vintage, shabby chic look. I think it turned out super cute! The ribbon is so saffron and the DP is delicate dots, both are from SU's Sale-a-bration catty.

For this card, the challenge was to use no more than three layers, and no more than three colors on our card (neutrals didn't count). My card base is kraft, and I framed the stamped images on chocolate chip. I stamped the images with baja breeze, chocolate chip and kiwi kiss. I added some antiqued brads in the corners and some jute twine at the top. I distressed the edges on this card too.

Hope you have a fabulous Friday!

Unity Goodness

Hello! Today my projects all feature stamps from the Unity March KOTM. This LO is of my oldest son, Will. Isn't he a looker? This photo is of him at my mom and dad's last St. Patrick's Day. My mom always hides gold chocolate coins and prizes all over the front porch and sidewalk. When we pull up, Will gets super excited because he knows the leprechauns have been to visit Nana! It's a tradition he will remember always.

The base is kraft and I doodled the circles around the perimeter with a black pen. The DP is K&Company's Daydream collection. I just love it! This rainbow paper was perfect with the rainbow image from the KOTM! I colored in the rainbow with my SU markers and cut it out. I also used Unity's Lucky journaling box. So perfect for this holiday, and it matches his shirt! I used buttons from my collection for a border along the bottom.

This is a card that I made for this week's color challenge on SCS, which was pink pirouette, ridinghood red, and chocolate chip. The strawberry candy and sentiment from this KOTM came to mind! Isn't it too cute? I adore that little piece of candy! I used my nesties to mat my candy image. I like this clean and simple card layout, and use it a lot lately!

Go check out Angela's blog today! She is featuring some of my projects on the Unity blog! How awesome is that?!

Have a wonderful Wednesday!
