December Daily 2013: DONE!

Hi, there! I FINALLY finished my December Daily album for 2013.  I was great about keeping up with it on a daily basis at the beginning of December, but then got behind with our busy schedule. I used the same style of Simple Stories album that I used last year. I used the Heidi Swapp Believe collection this year.  I bought the 12x12 paper pad and cut my own 4x6 and 3x4 cards from the papers.  I did this all ahead of time, which was super helpful. I also used the borders, and several embellishment packs that went with the collection.

I love that this album helps to keep in perspective not only the big, traditional holiday happenings, but also the little things that are just part of life.  The layout above shows that I reorganized my pantry, along with watching Rudolph in the evening.

I also wanted to include some of the artwork that my boys made for me over the holidays. I picked a day, that I forgot to take a photo and added some art to the layout.  The Santa in the top right was too big, so I just snapped a photo of it so that it could be included.

Here is a page that shows a less than happy holiday memory, but still part of life! A sick kid.  I also like to include my home decor in my albums, so that the boys can remember some day.

I didn't want to bore you all with a photo of every page this year, since I was bad about keeping up with it, but here is a glimpse!

TSOL: Call me...maybe?

Hello, my friends! I wanted to share some cards I made using the newest release from The Stamps Of Life called, phone4you.  I paper pieced the phone. I used paper and a chipboard element from Basic Grey's "Hey, You" line. 

On my next card, I actually used a card from one of my Studio Calico Project Life kits.  I stamped the phone outline in Licorice ink and the solid part of the phone in Banana ink.  I attached the top of the Project Life card using washi tape and used baker's twine for the telephone cord.

See the wood in the background? That is a sample of what my new wood floors look like! Installation is complete in my dining room and what will soon be my craft studio.  Kitchen remodel starts next week!

Project Life: Week 8

Hi, there! Today I wanted to share some more of my Project Life album.  Week 8 included a trip to a local hibachi grill before my hubby went out of town on a snowmobile trip up north, with my dad and BIL.  I included a screen shot of the weather close to where they were, and my hubs was super great about getting some good photos on his trip.  While he was gone, I had all of the boys conferences, basketball tournaments, and a trip to see my sister's show choir perform.

I finally got my oldest to pose for some photos! HOORAY!

For conference night, I took a photo of one of the teacher's desk area. I also added a photo of Luke's artwork that was hanging in the hall.  He was super excited to learn about different presidents this year.  I got a snap shot of my sis with her girls and my boys after the show.   My guys were very impressed with their aunt's hard work and amazed at what she and her students put into the show.

Project Life: Week 6 & Week 7

Hi, there!  Today I have two weeks of Project Life to share with you.  I focused on the Superbowl and Luke's Pinewood Derby for week six.  We usually have our own little Superbowl party at home, so I wanted to show photos of the food and snacks we ate to celebrate.  I also took a photo of the final score on our TV.  I waited to get the back of Joe Flacco's jersey, since he was MVP of the game. 
For the Pinewood Derby Spread, I included Luke's "pit pass" and made a couple collages, so I include more photos.  The papers were some old Cosmo Cricket that matched the Seafoam kit perfectly!

Now on to week 7!

This week is all about Valentine's Day and my son's broken arm and surgery.  I did a collage of photos of him at the hospital and of his x-rays.  I also took some photos of him visiting with family throughout the week.  The second page is all about Valentine's Day and school parties.

Project Life: Week 5

Hello!  Trying to get caught up on lots of projects, including Project Life.  I am not too far behind, and one thing I love about this type of scrapbooking-it is so easy to get caught back up.  No feelings of guilt or remorse if life gets in the way, because you know the final goal is attainable!

I am getting a bit frustrated with my sixth grader, as he is NOT into having his picture taken.  I feel like I have more photos of the twins.  Don't want him to feel left out someday, so I need to get creative in how I incorporate him into my album!  In weeks past, I have included photos he has taken (sunset, his new shoes).  He won't admit it, but I think he likes that I am using some of his photos.  Gotta love Instagram and the fact that all of his photos come to my photo stream (part of my parental controls on his ipad and ipod!)
If you have any other ideas on how to include a pre-teen boy in Project Life who does not want his photo taken, please let me know!

Project Life: Week 4

Hello! Here is my completed week 4 in my Project Life Album.  I have had a couple folks email and ask what Project Life is, and how they can get the kits.  I am going to direct you to Becky Higgins site, as she is the "go to gal" for all things Project Life.  I also think her kits are AMAZING!  There are several companies out there that offer different kits or Project Life papers.  My favorites are Studio Calico (I am FINALLY off of their waiting list), Ali Edwards (great digital files if you are a digital kind of person) and Elle's Studio has some fabulous products, too.

Project Life: Week 3

Week three of my project life album.  I so need lessons on how to photograph 12 x 12 scrapbook pages in page protectors!!!! Any suggestions or hints would be most welcome. :)

The snowflake dies are from MFT and the chevron die is from The Stamps Of Life.  I added some rhinestones and alphabet letters, along with some "chit chat" stickers from Tim Holtz. 
I made the mini collage of ice sculptures with my Pic Stitch app.  It is perfect for grouping photos together, and it also allows you to do some cool photo editing.

Project Life: Cover, Week 1 and Week 2

Sooooooo, here is the start of my Project Life album.  I chose to include photos of us from New Year's Eve for the cover.  I thought it would be a fun way to kick off my 2013 album.  I am working with the Seafoam and the Bridgeport kits.  I have been able to use items from both collections and they seem to work well together.

I kind of combined week one and week two on the first double page layout.  Week one was not really a full week, and I was busy cleaning up Christmas decor and getting my house back in order, so not a lot of photo taking opportunities!

Hubby and I celebrated our 14th anniversary on the ninth, so I included a coaster from Pappadeaux, where we ate dinner.  I also took a photo of the flower bouquet he got me, and cut it in half to fit the smaller pockets. 

So far, I am loving Project Life.  I love the randomness, and how fun it is to include the silly things, along with the big events. :)
