Heartfelt Creations: Designing for another term!

Hello! Happy Halloween!  I do not have anymore Halloween creations to share with you, but I do have some beautiful, Heartfelt Creations projects.  I had fun playing with my Gelatos on the card above! You can find a complete supply list and instructions for remaking this card below:

other supplies:  kraft and black cardstock, watercolor paper, small tag, rhinestones, Staz-On black ink, Ranger distress ink in Walnut Stain, water pen
Fold kraft cardstock base so it measures 5.5" x 4.25".  Cut watercolor paper to measure 5.25" x 4".  Stamp background image onto lower left corner of watercolor paper in black ink.Use purple gelato crayon and color around border of water color panel. Use water pen or watercolor brush to lighten the color and pull it towards the center of the card.  Now use a green gelato to add color to the swirls behind the  flowers.  Let dry and then distress edges with ink and fingernail or scissors.  Stamp Vintage Floret flowers (one large and two small) that match the sizes on the background stamp onto pink patterned paper and use coordinating die to cut. Shape flowers and then adhere to background image. Add rhinestones to the centers.  I used my computer and printer to make a sentiment for the tag. After adding distress ink to the edges, I adhered it behind my flowers, letting the strings trail down.  Use the decorative metal fixture die to cut a corner piece out of black cardstock and adhere to upper right corner of white watercolor panel. Adhere finished watercolor panel to kraft cardstock base.

 I made a little mini altered canvas in the photo above.  I didn't have to do much altering, as the journal box from the Delicate Asters paper collection says it all!  The supply list and instructions for recreating this project are below:

other supplies: 4x4 canvas, Wasabi Green acrylic paint by Americana; Martha Stewart decoupage glue and sealer; ivory seam binding, vintage lace, gold rhinestones (Michaels), Memento Tuxedo Black ink; white card stock
paint 4x4 canvas with green acrylic paint and let dry.  Apply journal box from Delicate Asters Paper collection to center. Use decoupage glue to seal to front of canvas.  When dry, apply strip of lace to bottom of canvas.  Stamp three of the smallest posy shapes onto white card stock and use matching dies to cut.  Color center with yellow marker and adhere rhinestone to center of each.  Adhere the finished flowers to the flower vines on the journal box.  Make a bow out of seam binding and adhere to lower left corner of canvas. Add a rhinestone to the center of the bow.

Vintage Halloween: Take Three

Hello! Today, as promised, I have a CAS style vintage Halloween card.  When creating a vintage style card with newer items, it is all about pattern and color.  I love a lot of the newer label type stamps with matching dies.  This pattern is a classic, so stamped in a muted orange, and then paired with some scrolls made from pages in an old book-you have a vintage looking design!
The label was made using Fancy Labels #4 by Stephanie Barnard for Sizzix.  The stamp set used is labels4cutting by The Stamps Of Life, which matches the dies.
I created the swirls using dies from the Sizzix Framelits with stamp set found HERE.  The background is cut using black card stock, and the inner swirl is cut from old text from a book.  I added some black rhinestones to the swirl, and rounded the upper right corner for effect.

Vintage Halloween: Take Two

 

Hello!  Today I have another vintage Halloween creation to share.  I got this cute image from FREE ViNTaGE DiGiTaL STaMPS.  I thought this would be perfect to send to my two little nieces.  I used a lot of non-Halloween type items on this card.  The purple paper is from Heartfelt Creations Delicate Aster collection.  I also used new Vintage Floret dies and stamps from Heartfelt Creations for the purple flower.  I outlined the old photo image and the flower with PK Glitz micro glitter.  The leaves are a SU framelit by Sizzix.  The little pumpkin was laying on my work table, but I believe it is from MFT's Primitive Pumpkins set.  The orange strip of DP was in my scrap bin, and the "spooky" is a die cut from K&Company.  I used Antique Linen and Walnut Stain distress inks on the edges of my white card stock base. I also distressed the edges of the purple panel.

When making a vintage-style card, I love that I use a lot of little odds and ends that would otherwise end up hanging around forever in my studio.  That is the fun part of a vintage style project. Throwing bits and pieces of things together unexpectedly to create a little work of art!

Vintage Halloween: Take One

Hi, there!  Over the course of the next few days, I will be sharing some vintage Halloween creations with you.  I just fell in love with this antique image (The Graphic Fairy).  She looked rather stern, so I decided to paint her face green, give her a witch's hat and make her into a Halloween card.  I will tell you, I felt a bit guilty doing this.  After all, this could be someone's dear, sweet, great grandmother (although I doubt if "sweet" is in her job description with that expression).  So...I am sorry to whomever this is, that I turned you into the wicked witch of the west.
Whoooo.....I feel better now.

I used Old Paper distress ink on all of papers and did some distressing of the paper edges.  I used Kiwi Kiss ink (SU) to paint her face.  The spider web, spider, and witch's hat are from The Stamps Of Life set, spooky2scare.  I added some PK Glitz micro glitter to her hat and the Candi studs.  I also added a strip of vintage lace behind the image and then tied it up with some orange, hand dyed seam binding.  The sentiment was computer generated.  I think this card MUST go to one of my sisters!  They know my love for the movie and book, "Wizard Of Oz".

I have been enjoying making vintage cards and creations lately.  I love piling on old things, and distressing newer items is super therapeutic.  There are so many places that you can find really cool vintage images (for FREE) on the net.  I will tell you, that I always go to The Graphic Fairy first when I am on the hunt for something special.

TSOL: Owl's It Going?

Hello! Today I am sharing a card made with the postage2stamp set from The Stamps Of Life.  I decided to create little "windows" with my postage stamp, and have the owls peeking out.  This was made for another HYYCT challenge on SCS.  I need to mail off some more cards tomorrow!  Please check out the link on SCS to learn how you can donate your cards to patients and families at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas.  Such a great cause!
I used a kraft card base and stamped my postage stamps in Stephanie's Guava ink.  The sentiment and owls are stamped in Chocolate ink.  I colored the owls with copic markers.

Heartfelt Creations: My Wish For You!

Hello!  Today I am sharing a card using stamps, dies, and patterned paper from Heartfelt Creations Vintage Floret collection.  This is a quick and easy card to put together.  The sentiment is actually part of one of the journal boxes in the Vintage Floret paper collection.  You can find instructions and a product list below!

other supplies: Tuxedo Black Memento ink, chunky silver glitter, rhinestones, white cardstock
Fold white cardstock base to measure 4.25" x 5.5".  Cut vertical patterned paper to measure 1.25" x 5.5". Adhere to card base.  Cut a journal box from patterned paper and adhere to card base, overlapping the vertical panel.  Stamp flower from Mini Vintage Floret set onto patterned paper and use coordinating die to cut.  Mold flower petals and add chunky, silver glitter to center of flower. When dry adhere to upper right corner of journal box.  Add three rhinestones in lower right corner under the journal box.

HOPE and LOVE...

Hi, there!  I have a shabby chic kind of card to share with you today.  I used some patterned paper from Prima called, London Market. LOVE!  The sentiment is from the Unity/ippity set All Things Are Possible.  I added some lace and burlap twine to the top and an old button in the middle.
This card will be going to the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas.  SCS is having an entire month of challenges devoted to card donations for patients and their families.  Such a good cause!  Even if you can not participate in the challenges (prizes involved), if you have a bunch of beautiful, homemade cards laying around, why not package them up and send them to Texas? Just sayin'...

This card is for the Drunken Stamper's challenge- to use buttons!

We had a great time camping with our neighbors, this weekend.  Here is a photo of the kiddos! Will is in the red sweatshirt in the back. Luke and Max are in the front in the orange sweatshirts.  We took a haunted hayride, carved pumpkins and had lots of laughs with friends.  We managed to squeeze in a football playoff game on Saturday, too (and we won)!

TSOL: Sealed With Love...

Hello! Today I have a card to share, using two sets from The Stamps Of Life.  I love how both of these sets can be used separately, or together.  The sets are postage2stamp and postmarks2stamp.  I used Stephanie's in in Licorice and Strawberry.  If you are looking for an ink that works wonderfully with clear stamps...this is it!  They are a very juicy ink pad, but you get a really great, vibrant color every time. No streaking or splotchiness at all!  They are made by Clearsnap, but are also availble in TSOL store.  Just had to gush over these inks, a bit.
You may want to check out TSOL blog on the 20th...just sayin'...there be something released that day that would work PERFECTLY with these two stamp sets!
On a side note, if you are looking for a good home for your cards, check out the Hope You Can Cling To challenges over on SCS.  There is a challenge every day the entire month of October for breast cancer awareness.  The card drive is for patients and families at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas.  The idea is that all of the cards made for the challenges, be sent to the address provided in the forum.  I am sure they would accept any cards you are willing to donate, too!  There are some simple rules about what kinds of cards are appropriate so make sure you go to the forum first and read about it. :)

Heartfelt Creations: Beautiful Birthday...

Hello!  Today I have another card to share with you all, using the new Vintage Floret collection from Heartfelt Creations.  I love how versatile the flowers are in this set.  I can make them look like roses, or stacked a bit differently, I came up with the flower above for this card.  The instructions and product list for recreating this card are below!

other supplies: Distress inks in Old Paper and Walnut Stain, So Saffron ink by SU, Chocolate ink by Clearsnap, white cardstock
Fold white card base so that it measures 4.25" x 5.5" when folded.  Ink edges with Old Paper and Walnut Stain ink.  Cut one of the journal boxes from Vintage Floret patterned paper and adhere to center of card base.  Stamp all four Bold Vintage Floret images in saffron ink onto white card stock.  Use coordinating dies to cut.  Ink edges of flower with distress ink and bend and mold flowers and layer together.  Add glue to center of flower and sprinkle brown gala glitz in center of flower.  Cut white cardstock panel to measure 4.25" x 1.5" and stamp sentiment in brown ink. Ink edges with distress ink and adhere over bottom of journal box.  Stamp leaf swirl images onto card base and over journal box and sentiment panel so that they will peek out behind your flower.  Adhere layered flower over the stamped swirl images.

TSOL: Leaves4fall

Hello!  I have another fall themed card to share with you today.  This one uses The Stamps Of Life set, leaves4fall.   I stamped my tree in Chocolate ink by Stephanie Barnard.  I then added the leaves in Apricot Appeal and Dusty Durango by Stampin' Up.  I used a MS border punch along the bottom of the image panel and added some baker's twine from The Twinery.  I love the tree in this set!  You could decorate it for any season.  I posted this Halloween card below earlier in the week, using this set.

  I am the guest designer for The Outlawz CAS challenge this month.  The theme is "fall leaves".  It is easy to join this group if you are not already a member.  There are many fun challenges and lots of prizes that are given away monthly.  Come and check it out. :)
