The Stamps Of Life: Frilly4abc

Hello!  I have been missing on my blog due to a mini vacation to The Smokey Mountains in Gatlinburg, TN.  We rented a chalet with my sis and BIL and their two girls.  We drove through some treacherous rain and saw some horrible wrecks, but once we made it, the weather was GORGEOUS!

Today I wanted to share some cards I made with a newly released set called frilly4abc by The Stamps Of Life. I love alphabet sets and how versatile they are. They are great for titles in scrapbooks and also for sentiments on cards. The above card the stamping is short and sweet. A simple "HI" stamped in Licorice ink by Stephanie Barnard onto a Fancy Label Die available at TSOL. I love all of the fun Sizzix dies that Stephanie has come out with.  I sponged Antique Linen distress ink around the edge.  The green floral paper is from Cosmo Cricket.  The mandarin baker's twine is from The Twinery and the little yellow rose is Prima.  The text is from an old book of children's stories that Max and Luke have been rough on! A lot of pages are torn so I am using it as my "go to" for text paper.  I don't have to worry about any inappropriate words or verses! LOL!

On this card, I used part of a sentiment (thinking of) from the tinytitles2stamp and the "YOU" is from the frilly4abc sets.  I used some lace looking paper from Sasafrass Lass for the background. The baker's twine is from The Twinery. Antique Linen distress ink was sponged around all of the edges of the white cardstock.

Thanks for stopping by!

Emily

Just had to leave a comment on your first card on today's blog--I can read the text, and it mentions "Marilla being unable to get the dye out of Anne's hair..." That HAS to be from our family's favorite book/musical, Anne of Green Gables. We see it every summer when we go to Prince Edward Island, on the East Coast of Canada. Sorry your book has fallen apart (although I love the look of old text). You need to visit there someday! I have a bunch of photos from "The Island" on my blog...

Beautiful cards, Emily! I really need to try tying twine bows like yours 'cause they're gorgeous. I really love how you attached a rose to the top card!

Your trip sounded marvelous! Glad you made it through the rain OK.

These cards are fantastic. I just love the layouts you used! and that lacy paper on the second card is so striking. :)
