Heartfelt Creations: Wonderful Christmas...

I just LOVE the new Ornamental Light collection from Heartfelt Creations.  The Frosty Blanket designer papers that match are perfect for making beautiful, vintage Christmas cards.  I used some of the designer paper for my background.  I tore and distressed the edges and added lots of glitter to the borders and images.  You will find a complete product list, along with instructions for re-making this card below.

other supplies: white card stock, watercolor paper, glitter, glossy accents, ivory burlap string by May Arts, Martha Stewart border punch, Black Staz-On ink, Antique Linen and Walnut Stain distress inks, kraft knife, blender pens (SU), tiny yellow gems
Fold white card base so it measures 4.25" x 5.5". Ink edges with distress ink. Cut 5.5" x 4.25" panel from Frosty Blanket paper. Distress edges with scissors and by ripping in places. Ink edges with distress ink and adhere to front of card base.  Stamp sentiment in lower left corner in black ink.  Stamp mailbox image and decorative post in black Staz-on ink onto water color paper. Color with various inks and a blender pen.  Use coordinating die to cut post and free hand cut the bird and mailbox image. You will need a kraft knife to get into the tiny spaces.  Use MS border punch to create border for top of card.  I used the left over strip from punching that for a border at the bottom.  Before adhering, cover with glossy accents and sprinkle with glitter.  After they have dried, adhere to the bottom and top of card.  Next, add glossy accents and glitter to foilage on mailbox.  I also added tiny, yellow rhinestones to the center of poinsettia.  When dry, adhere post and mailbox image to right of card base.  Some of the poinsettia and foilage will go off of the card.  Tie ivory, burlap string around decorative border at top and add a glittered button to the middle. I added the glitter using glossy accents.  I also added some glitter to the main panel in places on the designer paper.

Fold white card base so it measures 4.25" x 5.5".  Cut blue Frosty Blanket designer paper to measure 4" x 5.25" and adhere to center of card base.  Use Scalloped Posey die to cut circle design from white card stock and adhere to middle of card.  Stamp sentiment in black ink onto center of white circle.  Stamp snow swirl in Pacific Point ink after stamping off onto scrap paper first. Ink edges of circle with Night of Navy ink. Adhere finished circle to center of decorative circle using foam dots.  Tie silver cording around center of card and tie in bow. Add silver bell to center of bow.

other supplies: white and kraft card stock, Black Staz-On Ink, Antique Linen Distress ink, Prisma Pencils, oval and scallop oval punch (SU), May Arts burgundy burlap twine, vintage button, foam dots
Fold kraft card base so it measures 4.25" x 5.5".  Cut white card stock panel to measure 4" x 5.25". Ink edges of white panel with Antique Linen distress ink.  Stamp snow swirl image in Antique Linen distress ink in all four corners.  Stamp birdhouse image in Black Staz-on ink in center of white panel. Color image with prisma pencils.  Stamp sentiment in black onto white card stock. Punch out.  Use green designer paper and create a border using decorative border die.  Punch scallop oval from burgundy designer paper. Ink edges of white oval and adhere to center of scallop oval.  Adhere green decorative border to bottom of white panel and tie burgundy, burlap string into loopy bow. Add vintage button to center of bow.  Adhere oval sentiment with foam dots just over the burgundy string to the right.

TSOL: Sea2flower...say what?

Hi, there!  Today I would like to share a couple of cards using a new set by The Stamps Of Life.  This set is called sea2flower.  You may be thinking that is a strange name for a stamp set, but....there is a reason!  If you look at the card below, you can see that I took that big flower image and stamped the petals all blue.  Guess what I used to do that?  The sea turtle shell from the turtles2love set! Isn't that too cool?  I love that Stephanie makes her stamp sets coordinate together.  However, you do not have to have both sets to make the set work.  In the card above I simply stamped the flowers in pink and grey ink, and added a half pearl to the center of each.  Easy Peasy!

I have gotten a lot of use out of my turtles2love set, and now I just can't stop making beautiful flowers!  I am sure you will be seeing more creations with both!

FWF: Happy Bug!

Hello! Happy Friday!  Today I would like to share an ATC I made using stamps from the ippity set, A Little Buggy.  I brayered the background using SU inks: So Saffron, Crushed Curry and Apricot Appeal.  I then used a text stamp from Kitchen Sink Stamps and stamped over the brayered background in Crushed Curry.  I stamped my bug in black and then paper pieced his body with K&Company DP (Sera Sera).  I stamped the "happy" in black across the bottom and mounted on kraft cardstock.  I added tiny black gems to the bugs eyes.

I have never gotten into the whole ATC thing, but decided to try it. I actually joined a swap on SCS that required a bug of some kind.  I have always loved this beetle bug from ippity, so I decided to give it a go!

Fold white card base so that it measures 5.5" x 4.25". Ink edges with Antique Linen distress ink and Walnut Stain distress ink.  Cut kraft cardstock panel to measure 5.25" x 4". Round corners with punch. Ink edges with distress ink. Stamp large image from Organic Fillers set in Antique Linen ink over the entire panel.  Center and adhere to card base.  Cut border from Classic Editions paper collections to measure 5.25" in length and adhere to center of kraft panel. Cut white card stock panel to measure 2.5" x 3.5" and stamp corn husk image in black ink. Color with copics. Stamp tin pail and foilage. Use coordinating die for pail. Free hand cut foilage to put in pail.  Use coordinating die to cut small pumpkin image from designer paper. Adhere pumpkin and pail in front of corn husk.  Stamp small organic filler images onto coordinating patterned paper and use coordinating dies to cut. Set aside. Tie ivory, burlap string around the center of border, tie in bow and add button center.  Add different organic fillers behind the bow.  Adhere corn husk panel to the left of card base over twine with foam dots.  Using alphabet stickers, spell "thanks" in lower right corner of kraft panel.

Hello! This card pretty much sums up my personality in the morning.  Once I have had that first cup of coffee, I am a different human being.  Just ask my hubby!  I used two sets from The Stamps Of Life for this card.  The coffee cups are from the coffee4two set, and the sentiment is from the humor4women set.  I used Stephanie's Guava ink (pink), and SU's Crushed Curry and Bermuda Bay.  I tied coordinating baker's twine from The Twinery below the image.

FWF: Happy Blessings

Hello! Happy Friday.  Today I have a card using some old ippity sets that have been neglected in my collection.  On this card, I used Regal Greetings and Life Is The Journey sets.  I was going for a shabby chic look.  I think this card will be perfect for a couple who just found out they are expecting!
I used papers from My Mind's Eye Stella Rose/Hattie collection.  I also added some chunky glitter to the frame behind the stamped bird and the text leaves (using SU punch).  I made the rolled roses myself.  I tied some butchers twine to the top of the pleated paper and frayed the ends.  I also frayed it a bit on the twine going through the tag towards the bottom.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.  I have been quite the slacker lately because I have been glued to the tube. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the Olympics.  I love hearing the different stories the athletes tell from different countries.  I love seeing the families of the athletes in the stands, so proud, scared and nervous.  I cry a lot during the Olympics.  Sigh...My family knows that for two weeks-they are on their own! LOL!  My oldest came to me on Wednesday and said, "Will you PLEASE go to the grocery, mom"?  When the twins are older, we would love to take the boys on a big vacation during the Olympics.  I see Rio in our future....

other products: Sage Shadow cardstock (SU), watercolor paper, Snow maker pen, heating tool, glitter, glossy accents, Black Staz-On ink, markers and reinkers, blender pens, rusty bell, May Arts green burlap twine.
Fold Sage Shadow so that card base measures 5.5" x 5.5".  Stamp Yuletide Doorway image in Black Staz-On ink onto watercolor paper.  Use various markers and re-inkers to color image.  Stamp sentiment in black in upper right corner of image.  Using Snow Maker pen, add "snow" along sled, top of doorway and wreath. Use heat tool to create the puffy look.  Using glossy accents and glitter, add glitter to wreath and snow mounds.  Adhere image and center onto card base.  Tie green, burlap string around bottom of card base and add rusty jingle bell before tying bow.

The Stamps Of Life:Raccoon2love release!

Hello! I wanted to share a card I made with The Stamps Of Life new release, raccoon2love.  I think this set is so adorable! I decided to paper piece this guy.  I used some markers to go back over the belly and the stripes on his tail.  I cut out a heart that fit into his hands. I think this would be cute to send out on Valentine's Day.  I used a kraft card base and patterned papers from echo park's Note To Self collection.  I added  some burlap string to the top and a button.

Heartfelt Creations: Autumn Harvest Gift Box

Hello! I have a little gift box project to share with you today.  I recycled one of those round Laughing Cow cheese containers to make this one.  They are so easy to re-purpose, and I love the circular shape.  I used new dies, patterned paper and stamps from the newest Heartfelt Creations release, Classic Editions.  The papers are so delish and I love all of the different colors and patterns.

Spellbinders large circle and scallop circle dies
other supplies: white and brown acrylic paint, empty cheese container (I use Laughing Cow brand), watercolor paper, Vintage buttons, May Arts green and ivory burlap twine, hot glue gun, score tape, Tombow Multi glue, MS scallop border punch, Antique Linen Distress ink, Black Staz-on ink, SU markers for coloring pumpkin, blender pens for watercoloring
Stamp pumpkin onto watercolor paper with Black Staz-on ink. Color with SU markers and then use blending pen to achieve watercolor effect. Use coordinating die to cut pumpkin.  Paint round cheese box with brown acrylic paint with 2-3 coats and let dry (remove as much of labels as you can before applying paint).  Sponge white acrylic paint on edges to give a distress look.  Using Spellbinders circle dies, cut circles out of coordinating patterned paper to fit inside the box and to cover top of box. Use a strong adhesive to attach inside and to top of box such as Tombow Multi. Use Spellbinder's scallop circle die to create a mat for your pumpkin image out of lighter patterned paper.  Cut a strip of green patterned paper that measures 12" x 2". Crumple the paper up and then uncrumple and fan fold paper to create a pleated rosette.  I used my fingernail to distress the edges and sponged some white acrylic paint on the pleats to create a distressed look.  To hold the rosette together, use a hot glue gun to squirt a liberal amount of glue in the center of rosette and adhere to a piece of scrap paper that will not show underneath. Hold about 30 seconds until glue sets.  Attach rosette to top of box lid using hot glue and attach the scallop circle with pumpkin to the top and center of rosette. Add button and twine.  Punch long strips of scallops in lighter patterned paper to fit around lip of lid. I punched two strips of paper measuring 12" x 3/4" and attached with score tape. I trimmed off the excess from the second strip.  Tie green burlap string around the top of lid twice and add button and tie in bow.  This is perfect to add some fall treats, or a small gift for a friend.
